I remember becoming more happy with the belly once I could see and feel my daughter turning around and moving in it. But at the end I was DEFINITELY ready to have the delivery over and done with.

Fab Friday to you all!
Ann, thanks for the update on DH --- I had been wondering when his appointments were coming up. Paula, thinking of you today, surely there will be good news.
There is snow in Seattle this morning. The apocalypse is here.
Hug that skinny tight.
Shel

I'm so very sorry about the cancer diagnoses, Ann and Paula. My dad is currently fighting aggressive stage IV bladder cancer with the doctors at Mayo, so I understand what a helpless feeling it is to have a loved one going through all that a cancer diagnosis entails. The frustrating part is he's never felt sick from the cancer, only from the treatments (kidney removal, chemo, radiation, bladder biopsies, BCG infusions, etc.). My heart goes out to you both...
I think I've passed my goal weight today, but given I don't trust my scale after its freak out the other day, I'll wait until Sunday with my new scale to confirm.
I went and got a Dexa scan this morning. Interesting to have my body tissues quanified and shows I have a lot of work to do!
My weight was 171.8 (includes clothes).
Total body fat was 65.1 lbs or 37.9%, which he said should be more like 31-35% for my age. My biggest fat concentrations were my stomach, arms, and trunk. Lowest concentrations were my legs and hips supporting my idea that I've always been shaped like a potato on toothpicks... My stomach fat to hip fat ratio is still in the unhealthy range (stomach fat should be less than hip fat. Mine are 46% and 36.1% respectively).
Lean tissue (muscle and organs) was 100.8 lbs
Bone mineral content was 5.9 lbs which is above average for my age and likely leftover from carrying so much weight for so long (I had no idea bones weighed so little!)
Interesting factoid, he could tell by my scan that I was left handed because of the lean muscle mass in my left arm/leg vs. right.
They estimate your Resting Metabolic Rate based on these stats. Mine if I was laying in bed all day would be 1367 calories. He said I could eat another 250 calories if I had normal activity, more with higher activity. So I potentially have a lot of calorie increasing to do over the next few weeks/months.
I'm happy to have a baseline picture to help with figuring out how much more weight I might want to lose versus muscle to put on. I really don't care about the number on the scale anymore, but would like to have a better balance of fat to muscle.
Hope everyone has a good day!
That's such interesting info, Cecily. If the BMR data is right you can definitely eat a lot more when you get your exercise programs going. I have GOT to get a DEXA scan done!
You know from my forum posts here that I'm an MFP devotee. It's really been such a boon to me to know what I'm actually eating. I could probably maintain now without tracking, but it's such an easy, fast chore now and I enjoy the data and the sense of control I get from tracking that I will continue. Even my therapist who worried for a long time that I was obsessing in tracking for so long no longer gives me any guff. I keep telling him that he's not not allowed to confuse my hangups and my superpowers. ;)
Thanks for your your kind words about my dear hubby. And I'm sorry your dad is dealing with cancer. Yes, it really sucks.
Glad you're here. :)

Greetings Friday Maintainers
Down a half today. I am grateful because a few pieces of Halloween candy flew into my mouth. I took most of it to the studio to get rid of but a few sneaky pieces remained.
Hey Liz, how many days?! Just think you can walk every day at that beautiful spot you shared.
Paula here is hoping insurance people get their act together today. It should be a crime to play with peoples lives. And Ann, glad your DH has appointment and can get on with things. Waiting must be the worst.
Interesting Dexa information Cecily. I had an RMR done years ago and it was 936! My doctor doesn't believe it. No wonder I got so fat.
I am still slogging through paperwork. Wish I had a secretary. My husband will fax and scan but thats only the half of it.
Its raining today so I guess the dogs won't get walked. The young one seems to be in some sort of existential crisis. She won't eat and is sort of trembling. Indeed Shel, the apocalypse may be on the way. If that were true, would you all bury yourselves in chocolate or go to the beach?
Well, time to do something useful. Wait, this is useful and so is drinking coffee...DianeS
Funny you mention the apocalypse and chocolate. I originally had the same observation in my post. (Y'all might be a surprised that I actually try to edit my posts for length. I am not always successful)
I say yes to both chocolate AND beach. Champagne, too. Delightful.

Chocolate, beach and coffee! All very comforting! I have 5 work days left (3 long days including 1 dinner I was talked into and 2 short days). I'm not counting the last day when I won't really work (just go to the office to drop off my equipment and sign papers, then probably go out to lunch with my former team).
