My heart goes out to you and especially to Ben. I know it is a common thing with some insurance companies, but I understand the range, heart ache, and betrayal you must feel. Sadly, insurance companies are in this business to make money, not support people in their time of need. I hope you get answers today and that Mayo is able to reschedule you immediately.

Thanks Devon. We are supposed to have a peer to peer review tomorrow morning (MD from insurance company speaking to our MD from Mayo) with a determination after that. It is all just a bunch of red tape bull**** We are going with a different insurance company for next year that allows you to choose any provider you wish (and costs $600 more per month then our current plan!). Hopefully this heartache will be over soon! So many F bombs have been leaving my mouth the last few days, you would think you were in a room of Sailors!

Yes, I am feeling pretty defeated today...not at all like the strong woman I know I am!

You are still strong....just no chair at the decision making table. That's enough to drive anyone to tears (or to paying an extra 600.00 dollars a month. It is very hard not to feel cynical about that.)

I would cuss like a sailor too. It is all a numbers game to them. Wishing and praying all goes well.

This is just plain absurd Paula. So sorry for this issue in addition to what else is going on. Hang in there. We are pulling for you. Sending good energy and hoping the peer review works out. Curses on that insurance company and the fact that you have to pay $600 more each month just to have a say in things. Diane S

Thank goodness you are the strong woman you are Paula! Hopefully this latest obstacle will be cleared today, but I do know how constant battles like this can feel so defeating especially because Ben's illness is enough on its own to cope with.
