VSG Maintenance Group
Saturday October 21st
Oh, I am sorry that DH isn't feeling well. You mentioned something about infection the other day....has this been going on for a long time? (I suppose that 12cm (!) mass took a while to accumulate)
Glad to see the scale finally get with the program.

He actually got his first infection before we even left the hospital. Not sure that original one ever went completely away. He had been on 3 different rounds of antibiotics which knock it down but don't clear it and a week or so after stopping the antibiotics it starts all over again. I worry about the fatigue it is bringing on.
Good morning, mates!
Just got back from my gym class. I ran into a colleague I hadn't seen in ages. 10-15 years ago, we used to run together at lunch. We have a similar fitness mindset and it will be nice to plan classes together when motivation wanes.
That similar mindset is why I check in here, too. Thanks so much for keeping my head in the game and out of the cookies.
DD's last Xcountry meet of the year is today. She has been sick all week so can't run herself but wants to be there to cheer on her friends. It is cold, grey, rainy and grey and wet and grey and miserable and did I mention cold? And I have yet to be at a meet where there was decent coffee. Oh well, just 4-5 hours and maybe I'll do a Costco run in the middle. Surely there is a near by Costco.
Have a terrific day!
Shel

I think rainy cold is the worst!

Greetings Fall Friends
I do like autumn and we are getting some good tree color. But its a reminder that the rains are coming. It has rained quite a bit these past few days but will quit soon for awhile. Everyone who has lived here their whole lives says the climate has really changed. Its warmer and less fog.
Well Liz glad you had some good DSD bonding. I bet she finds something soon. When I was young I always worried I was about one paycheck away from being a bag lady. Of course my family would not have let that happen. I think its even harder for young people to keep it together these days.
Diane O, sorry the flu shot was bad news. Reminds me I have to go get one. Does one get a pneumonia shot every year? I think I had my first one last year.
DH is asleep in his chair with dog Chip on his lap. Chip has been a little sick barfing and such. Also has muddy feet. Does not bode well for the carpet cleaners Monday.
Last night was steak as New Yorks were on sale. I have to find the smallest one they have and then cut it in half and the dogs still get a few bites. I can't imagine that I used to eat a 10 to 12 ounce steak with no problem. Plus salad with a mountain of bleu cheese. I used to think the whole purpose of salad was a dais for blue cheese dressing.
My studio friend is coming over today so DH will help fix her computer. He is very kind to everyone about fixing stuff. Friend is kind of a handful because she emotes so much about computer. But I get it. Sometimes I want to divorce my computer and all others. But without it, I wouldn't have all you guys.
Hanging on to 139.5 by a thread. I know what I need to do but just can't seem to get motivated.
Paula, sorry your DH has infection. Being sick sucks. Wishing a recovery for him and sorry it might take surgery.
My older brother with brain tumor is not doing well. He has fallen twice in the last two days and they are working with him on a walker. I have begged them to move to a more handicapped friendly place and now I fear its too late. Not much I can do.
But every cloud has a silver lining and mine is filled with coffee. Still wondering about Carbon and Joey. Take care all. Diane S
I am sorry about your brother.
about pneumonia shot, if your 1st was last year you will likely get another this year. There are two types so you would get the other one. After you have the two different ones on board, you likely won't need another for 5 years. Guidelines change, tho. Your doc should track

Diane, I also get flu and pneumonia shots at my pharmacist. But they always notify my doc about the shots, and the info goes into my PCP medical records.
I bet that's how your pharmacy and PCP coordinate records, too.

Happy Saturday!
I awakened wanting the sun to reverse its rise, go back from where it came in the east and let me sleep several more hours. I barely managed to get my butt out of bed at 8:30 am!
Cancelled afternoon grooming. Person picking up a puppy was running late, which meant I would run late on the grooming, and I thought I'm just not up to dealing with it all, so I texted and asked to reschedule. Clients agreed. Funny, when all was said and done, puppy pick up, thought late, was quick and I could have been on time for the last grooming. Instead, here I sit with a little free time and get to check in with my VSG peeps!
Weight was up a pound today. I am sore, sore, sore from my workout yesterday. That's what I get for taking time off for dog shows in PA, coming back sick, then unable to workout due to wild fire smoke induced asthma. We had a bit of rain in the wee hours of Friday morning. The air cleared quite a bit and my lungs feel much clearer today than they have in the 10 days since the fires started.
HAHA... It is 10:15 and I just opened up the laptop to discover I never finished my post... Big news is.... MY HOUSE IS CLEAN!!!!! (well, almost...) Such a nice feeling. Swept, vacuumed, dusted...counters and cupboards wiped down....stove pulled apart, cleaned, parts run through the dishwasher and the floor underneath the stove is swept and washed.... I needed to do that. Sometimes cleaning is just what I need! Must be some type of therapy for me - taking back control????
And then there were three.... Only one more pup to place!
My house needs one of those thorough cleanings, but I'm going to wait until we are home from Florida for Christmas to do it. We keep up with the basics one room at a time, but sometimes I just need to do a top to bottom extensive cleaning to feel that it is completely clean.
