Wt unchanged. The F&Vs have got to work eventually. I do pretty good except on travel days. Ate half of a flat bread sandwich from Panera. Chicken and avocado. Planning on the other half tonight. I do keep grapes in the house for grazing.

Not doing much today. My back tells me I have been doing too much lately. I do not like to take advil but I have taken 1 the previous 3 days. DW says it is time I had some images done. It may very well be. I so enjoy to lose my self in sawdust and glue. Balance has never been my strong suit.

The acorns are falling under the white oak tree in the front yard and nearly covering the ground. 2 sometimes 3 deer come up at night and early morning to eat them. They are about 50 feet from the airstream. China the pit bull does not like them in her yard. When she barks our inside dog, Bosco, thinks he has to bark too. I had to close the doggie door in the shop last night to get any sleep.

More later, David

Oh, I so enjoyed reading all y'alls posts today! Something about them made me smile: chili and Fritos, TJs green chile mac and cheese, rib eyes, pasta soup, ....

Fall must be upon us with all that bone warming comfort food on our minds.

BB, my Granny had a candy bowl and a cookie jar. She kept the candy bowl filled with Brach's mix most of the time, but at Christmas there were always these pastel colored christmas minty things that would melt in your mouth once you bit them. They were sort of like chalk, but then melted into a minty goo. Boy, I loved those. I know they are still around, just don't know what they are called. Her cookie jar was personally filled for each visiting grandkid. She knew the likes and dislikes of her 5 grandchildren and we were most definitely catered, too, especially my brother and me, because my mom allowed us to visit Granny for a week at a time. My Granny had 4 boys, 2 of whom married and had kids. My uncle's wife was not a pleasant sort and did not allow her kids to stay with my Granny by themselves. I think it saddened her quite a bit. But she got my brother and me in spades and cooked up a storm when we were there. Both my mom and paternal grandmother showered love by cooking specialties for those they loved. I do think it's a wonderful thing. It goes to the core of who we are - getting nurtured emotionally, spiritually, and physically through someone's best effort to please us and let us know how loved we are by the fact that they are willing to put so much effort into a single meal - just for you. Some people who fight obesity (either those that help the obese or those of us who are) naysay the expression of love through food. However, I believe it is natural and goes back to basic instinct of the need for nourishment and security. As obesity fighters we must learn to navigate that expression of love carefully, but not reject it.

Okay, off my box....

All that said, my food is not good right now. I am exploring why. That is all I can do.

I am tired.

XO - Me

^^^^ Truth ... gorgeously expressed.

Yes, nutritious, delicious food IS an expression of love and caring.

God bless our grannies. And our mommies. And all of the other people who have cared for us with good food.

BTW, sometimes I still marvel that my mother grew my body inside hers with the good food that she ate.

Great Post Devon. Eating and loving are so intertwined. All the best in exploring why. I think I know my "why" but not sure its helping me do better but at least I am not wallowing in food like I once did.

Hug a dog for me.

209. Probably ate my last homegrown tomato of the season today. L It was a great crop and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to next year!

My weight is up and I know why. My SIL picked up somebody else's sub at WaWa instead of my grandson's. I went back later, they gave me my grandson's and of course told me to keep the other. It was a tuna sub. Nobody else likes tuna subs, except ME! I love tuna subs, sooooo it was obviously divine intervention, fate and there are no consequences when something like this happens. Free is not free. I have been eating the sub all week but it is finally gone. I ate a quarter of the small sub with a tomato from my garden and it was so delicious but time to get back on track.

I noticed that it has triggered me, I am definitely craving more, so I will have to white knuckle it for a while. My friend invited me on vacation to the Keys in January and has not seen me since my regain, so I want to relose before then
