GOOD LORD, Shel! What a great adventure! Congratulations.

I feel sorry for the boys, too. But it will turn into an adventure story for them, too.

Damn, I wish we lived close to each other. I would so go on those hikes. Sigh.

Shel-How do you post your photos?

I will not post my weight today since I"m thinking/hoping it's unusually high due to travel/airplane/altitude/not being able to potty.

DH and I got back last night from a trip to Vail and Denver. It was a really nice weekend. We started out with Vail on Friday. The fall foliage was gorgeous! Wow! We had lunch on a patio there (albeit a quite cold one) and no sooner had we finished lunch than it started snowing huge flakes of snow. So we got our first snow of the season! Vail was pretty low-key--we mostly sat around and talked (and ate) with BIL and SIL. But DH never gets to spend much time with them, so it was nice.

On Saturday we headed back toward Denver to meet up with some friends who moved from okc to Denver last year. We went to Boulder and walked around. I thought it was really nice and quaint. I can see how it'd be the perfect college town! I was warned that us Okies might not like it because it is so ...errr...."crunchy". But honestly it wasn't bad at all! I rather liked it. My pregnancy (or altitude sickness?) wasn't cooperating so I didn't get to enjoy food too much. And not getting to drink beer was a bummer. But oh well. We capped off the day at a CU game.

>>OU lost (in a completely separate game, which I guess I'm glad I wasn't at or watching). Sad day. If you're in Oklahoma, you're probably a college football fan. And if you're an OU fan, you thought maybe this year was "the year." And then they lost to Iowa State. I think what I hate most is that caring for a college team can actually upset me to see them lose. Grrr....

I was in Boulder once on business and thought it was a great place. We'll be going to Denver next fall for a friend's daughter's wedding and will probably go some other places around there while in the area. Nice part of the country!

For some reason my whole post didn't post.

Another thing about my friends is that they now eat pretty much vegan on the weekdays. Now I'll stop right there and say I don't have any hope of ever ever being vegan or vegetarian. A meatless meal a week is pushing it! But all of VSGann's talk, plus listening to my vegan friends' meal plans just really made me miss veggies and feel bored with my typical fare of chicken, pork, beef. And I have no doubt I eat too much red meat. The variety veggies has to offer is exciting. So I definitely want to challenge myself to get in more of those V/F's and maybe a meatless meal a week.

Devon-don't ya just love slack on belts!!??

No weight this morning, rushing to get to work on time and forgot. I know! I worked a lot this weekend, cleaning out paperwork and garbage from one of our estate houses. Last weekend, I did not work at all so this weekend I did double. My back and arms are aching.

Last night, we went to my brother's house for dinner and cards. I was feeling so pumped up and y'know my son won't check out my muscles. My nephew is a peach, so I knew he would feel my bicep and he did so that was fun. Much like the airplane seatbelt, my muscles still give me a thrill.

Greetings Fine People.

Still at 138.5. Heading out for the midwest tomorrow where its pretty much a given that I will eat pizza. Hope I can stay the course otherwise. It should be an active time since I will be hauling paper to the recycle by the ton.

Hmmm, wandering cows. They do indeed get out but where are they planning on going? There used to be cattle just a couple of blocks from us but that pasture is empty now. I have seen goats on our street and hear roosters. Small town life.

Devon welcome back. Hoping to hear more about your dog adventures. Yeah UK border terriers tend to be bigger sometimes. I had a male named Tiger whose dad was a UK import and Tiger was huge. Too big to finish.

Love the seat belt picture. Sometimes I think that should be the avatar for this group instead of the vsg hippo. I always love getting on a plane and finding the seat belt is too big and I have to tighten it.

Great hike adventure Shel. I would have bugged out after about 4 steps in the snow. Those boys had it rough but at least they made a trail. I remember my own dogs discovering snow in the midwest. I even went on my cross country skis being pulled by a sled dog once.

And hey, where is Carbon? Hope all is ok.

Got a walk in with Tesla yesterday. I had been feeling rather achey and decrepit lately but moving around seems to help. Also advil. Years ago my surgeon had told me its ok and indeed thats one of the reasons I won my appeal on insurance covering the sleeve but I understand the ASMBS has changed its view and I haven't talked to my surgeon in some time. However, two advil maybe twice a year doesn't seem so dangerous.

Yep BB, Boulder is fun as is Vail. I used to ski at Vail often and a good friend's daughter went to CU. It is a cute little town. I had hoped to ski again after weight loss but I fear my hands and bones are past the time.

More to do on trip prep. Yesterday I got the important papers rounded up that I will need. Today I have to locate house keys and do a major clean out of my purse. Probably will have to move in to a bigger one as I have so much junk I need including protein bars for plane. I have several hours in San Francisco before the flight to Omaha but its a fairly entertaining airport with art exhibits and such. Far too much food available.

Well enough drivel. Time for more coffee. Diane S

I think that a few Advil a year are fine. I took some after PS because I couldn't stomach the opioids (literally).

Diane, I agree with Liz about the occasional use of NSAIDs being OK. Over the period of a week, after my recent yoga knee boo-boo, I took 3 Advil.

But for 30 years I took Advil daily -- and often took the max daily dosage allowed.

At this point, even with a sleeve, a dozen Advil a year is no biggie IMHO.

Obviously, this is coming to you from someone who's not an MD or an ASMBS Fellow.

Yeah I used to eat advil like candy. Always something hurt. Not any more. I am not going to worry about a couple now and again. They have never bothered me. diane
