Sunday October 1
Weight 114.5 (down 1), calories 1324. We went out to dinner for the second night in a row, but I didn't overdue (crab cake and glass of wine). I did have these cake bite protein things when I got home. Luckily they are all gone as they are too much like real cake for me to be safe around.
We are going to a cookout today in central Massachusetts with DH's Relay for Life Team. In previous years he was very active and stayed all night. This year he just went for a couple of hours at the beginning with his brother. He is looking forward to the cookout. We are having dinner with DD afterwards. Side trips include visiting the cemetery and getting apples at the orchard. I've been capturing good apple recipes (they are one of the best things about fall in New England).
DS just called. His sous chef (who has been living in our basement suite as he was a friend of DS) quit last night and is going home to Maine today. It has been a rocky situation since the beginning, so hopefully DS has learned not to hire friends. It either works out great or wrecks the friendship (rarely in between).
Have a stupendous Sunday and an omnipotent October day!

Very quick post this morning. Weight is 132. Doing some delish and healthy crockpot meals this weekend for our house guest. He's trying to lose 20 pounds, so he appreciates all the protein and veggies around here.
On Friday we changed internet service providers and will have new service (Hughesnet) installed on Tuesday. We're optimistic that it will be much better and faster. I'm in the mood these days to kick all lousy service providers to the curb and explore new options. :)
Deep breath ... hubby's cancer clinic called Friday to say his oncologist wants to see him tomorrow re biopsy results. We're inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply here since we don't know what it means yet. Any homilies we can think of seem irrelevant until we find out.
I'll take our friend on a little hike this morning, and he will hit the road after lunch. We've had such a good time with him and are so glad he made the effort to come visit.
Today's theme is October already ... WTH?!

Good morning!
I have been to the gym and back. Hope to get to gentle yoga late today. Ann, I have home legs up the wall planned just for you and DH...many positive thoughts to be flowing your way!
Liz, I thought of you at the local co-op this morning. Almost every apple variety has a breathless description of the apple's hallmark characteristics. The one exception was a poor McIntosh that was described only as "popular on the East Coast."
Devon, sorry to see all those pups fly the coop (Look! coop and co-op in the same post!) I know it is time and they are going to carefully selected wonderful homes but you must still miss the little buggers even if you don't miss their poopers.
Ok.....on to the mountain of mail, instantpot chicken stock and something made out of fresh corn.
Hug your skinny! Shel

We almost got MacIntosh, but bought Cortlands instead. There was a lot of apple picking going on there. It would have been a great day for it, but we didn't have time so just bought a big bag.

Greetings Apple Lovers
Count me in the above. I should go to our local orchard as they have about 25 kinds. All very good and you can get little ones for tiny tummies.
Well last night was bizarre. I got a 2:30 am phone call that my mom's crazy friend Pat had died. I guess she just collapsed in the bathroom. Bittersweet feelings. Before she got so cranky she was a fabulous person. My niece the veterinarian is over at the apartment getting the old cat. My mother still had some papers there but of little importance. I have been up all night with calls and texts and finally gave up trying to sleep so I am sitting here with my caffeinated veggie drink. More people to notify. Not sure what to do.
Ann, thinking of you and hope biopsy report goes ok.
Liz, hope the cookout and such is fun.
Hope everyone else is doing well. More later.
