Weight 115, calories 1255. 34 workdays to retirement! I hope I can sleep a little later sometimes after I retire so someone else will start this thread periodically. I was up at 4:45 AM after about 5 hours sleep last night because I have to reset my sleeping habits to go into the office tomorrow (and couldn't fall asleep last night). I told my direct reports that I would see them in person. I expect it will only be another 4-5 times that I go in before I'm done there.

Yesterday was a PERFECT beach day. Warm, a bit of a breeze and full sun. We had a wonderful beach day: relaxed, read, swam and took a lone beach walk. It would have been one of the best days of summer, except it was in the fall! Possibly today will be a beach day as well, but I will be working.

Have a magnificent Monday!

Miss my daughter like crazy. Life in NYC is so energizing but the constant vibration of the subway and lack of green space begins to wear on me. It took me almost an hour to drive out of the city, and another 4+ to get home.

Down a pound. All of that walking enabled me to sample many different tastes! Had a Greek lamb hash for breakfast yesterday that had to be one of the best flavor profiles I've ever experienced. I automatically dug out the protein first, which helped me appreciate how natural honoring my sleeve has become.

Devon, those puppies are life changers for so many people ! It has got to make your heart sing !!

Liz-Beach day sounds amazing. Today is probably our last day of summer here too. 85 today, 65 tomorrow

Diane O.-NYC sounds so amazing. I think I couldn't live in a city full-time because just too much sharing (space, etc.) but I sure love visiting them! I'm hoping DH and I make NYC @ Christmas our babymoon. I'll be about 26 weeks then and hopefully still feeling good.

Weight: 161.8. Isn't weird how when you eat more and worse your weight goes down? I'm theorizing that what happened is the stomach flu caused me to lose lots of fluid (obvi) and then my body rebounded by holding on to everything. So now it's stabilizing maybe. I think normal clothes will be a thing of the past in another 2 weeks.

DH and I had a very busy weekend. We went to the fair again on Saturday. I used to love fair food. Now I just cannot physically eat as much and I don't enjoy it as much. And I'm of mixed emotions on that. Are there times when y'all yearn to eat like you did preop/feel that high for lack of a better term? I think maybe we discussed this before. Definitely Thanksgiving is one for me. Sometimes I wish I could eat sweets like before (just for one day!). But the fair was sort of that way. I shared a pork chop sandwich with my husband (by share I mean I ate about 1/4 of it), and we shared a funnel cake. Maybe that still sounds like a ton. But in my former life, that would be super disappointingly little.

Yesterday was also a poor eating day. But I don't know if I'm comfortable designating it as such or not. Certainly I like to try to eat healthier. But one of the big strong suits, I feel, about this way of eating, is that I can go to the fair. Or like yesterday my sister, bil, and 4 nieces visited and my mom made chicken and noodles and slaw and I took over mashed potatoes and a bundt cake. I still love cooking for people!! My nieces loved the cake and my eldest niece said "mmm cinnamon and spice and everything nice." I had half of a slice and I'm good.

If I eat something really sweet I become ill. The queasy feeling last hours. Except for ice cream. But I don't wish I could eat like I used to except maybe for watermelon. I love that as much as nuts and yogurt.

Most sweets (I say most because strangely and unfortunately Reeses seems to be a notable exception to this) make me sick if I eat more than 3 bites. Like cheesecake? Fuhgettaboutit. Ice cream is the one thing that mega makes me sick=lactose intolerance. Occasionally I can get away with a few bites but normally not worth the risk.

I haven't weighed in a week. I know I am way up. I think I will wait another week to weigh after my change in food choices stabilizes. I should run out of N&Y tomorrow. I lost 50 lbs pre-WLS and part of that was starting with a green shake every morning. It is a good way to get in some veggies for me. I was using a pea protein powder that I like but DW say she has some coming that I will like even more. I really don't like to drink my calories but it is time to do something even if it is wrong, LOL.

Diane S, I don'****ch much in the sports area. Something always bothered me about the players making gazillions of dollars to play a game. And that was before all of the political stuff.

Liz, your day at the beach sounds so relaxing. You will do well in retirement. I used to start the post all the time. I need to set my routine to start out with it again.

Shel, I think there is a chill pill. Any of the ones that end in -pam.

Diane O, I like to look at new bikes. I have a really good one. 3 really good ones. I just need to wear them out first.

Ann, the kid company you had sounds like they had a good up bringing. It is nice that they came for a visit.

We are going to get an injection of youth with these grand babies. DD#2 is due in Jan-Feb 2018. DD#1 is moving here this week. She is 7 months. She has her first stretch mark. She was so upset.

SO I guess all that will means I will focus on finishing the house and getting it ready to rent. Back to the original plan of additional income stream.

Today I have a delivery truck from Little Rock with a load of plywood for some odd and ends for DS#1 and DIL. Hope the forklift will start.

More later, David

I miss the days when I could watch sports to escape politics :( And that's all I'll say.

Goodness! Busy weekday mornings with puppies and poop! Totally forgot to weigh this morning, but weighed yesterday and was fine. I remain at my 4 pound gain over the puppy weeks. I can live with that. I am holding my own.

I have 9 pups left. Will be down to three or four this weekend. Then I'll be off to PA for the nationals and leave Ron saddled with the few remaining pups for almost a week! He can handle it.

Once back I will reevaluate my food choices of late and focus on reducing my blood sugar level, which has crept up. My A1-C is still at 5.3, so that's fine, but my fasting glucose has been in the 80s since VSG and was in the upper 90s this last time. Gotta fix that!

Onward through the week!
