Hello all!

A quick post because I (in particular) want to wave at Dave. So glad to see you here! What a relief for the whole family to see minimal damage in Florida. (Fingers crossed for the rest of the season.) Gut microbiome is such a hot topic.....I think you have N&Y bugs that only want N&Y. It is hard to deny those critters. I wonder if they are depressed bugs, too. Right now, it seems that everything might have a microbiome link.

My closet is organized into tops, jeans, bottoms, jackets, dresses. That. Is. It.

BB --- rant away. Your body demands it. Don't deny it.

Have a lovely day!

Shel

206.2. I have been diligently logging my food AND my weight into MFP to keep an eye on the yo-yo and weight range. Since I started logging every day on September 11th , the scale has continued downward (6.1 lbs.) I realize that most of this is water and body fluctuations and my weight had gotten to a new high, but -- shut up brain and let me dance for a while.

Greetings Great Ones

Fifteen years ago today my 17 year old nephew died. He committed suicide. He was a great kid who struggled with depression and somehow just didn't think he was good enough. So its a sad day for us remembering him. A grim reminder to everyone to take depression seriously and get treatment if its sneaking up on anyone. Reminds us all of the value of family.

138 today. Its sunny and crisp so the day is full of promise. Still piles of business chores to do.

BB I hear you on the contractors. Even the best ones run into scheduling issues. So hard to line up all those contingencies and make them work. Our carpet needs replacing but I can't stand the thought of what we would go through to do it. At least we got our new refrigerator a couple of weeks ago without much trouble.

Good to hear from you Dave. Hope the new med works out. Depression is such a sneaky thing and must be addressed. I take meds for it too.

Liz, glad you get to go inland a bit. Storms can be scary. Hope your dogs don't wig out.

Ann you are my veggie guru. I go to the store and think "what would Ann eat?"

Later. Diane S

17 yo is so young. Most kids don't think they have any options support or understanding. I too was depressed as a child and thought to a degree that it was normal. Went to a doctor and told him I was depressed and he patted me on the back and said I didn't "look" depressed and I would be alright. It is hard to know how to get help sometimes. The past few years I have a wonderful team on my side. I am lucky in that way.

I think that doctors often dismiss what young people say. That is one of the reasons the cure rate for cancer for people between 15-40 is much lower than for any other age group. Younger than 15, the parent is advocating and over 40, the doctor is listening.

We have several friends who lost three children to suicide in their very early 20's. Such a tragedy. One of them always seemed so laid back. He used to frequently say "no stress, no worries". But he was in a time of crisis when he did it.
