Weight 115.75, calories 1392. Last night, I worked until 5 due to a late department meeting and then we left immediately for our monthly Alzheimers support group meeting. We didn't return until 7:45. Note to self: bring a snack next time! I was starved by the time we got home of course, so ate more than I should have then couldn't go to bed for a while until my innards settled.

Boy, this is going to be a LONG few weeks until retirement. I don't mind talking about things with people, but writing documentation is SOOOO boring. I've been trying to break it up, and use it as a filler between meetings/other tasks, but yuck! I was going to go in the office tomorrow but I'm finding that I have more and more excuses why I'm not going to. We will see...

Have a welcome Wednesday (and in some cases, windy - we have tropical storm Jose blowing around a bit outside this morning).

Getting really excited about visiting my daughter. After this DD, youngest, was born I did another of my many "diets" so that my newborn and 18 month old would have a healthy, vibrant, active mother to grow up with. After losing 100+ , I ballooned up to 345 in the blink of an eye. For their entire lives, I ranged between 275 - 345 except for intermittent dips down. I was unable to do hikes, long walks, active adventures as I lacked the basic mobility and stamina.

When youngest left for college, I made the break from a 27 year unhappy/unhealthy marriage. I entered therapy, began to practice self care, and began to address my weight for once and all. By the time I was committed and successful with a healthy lifestyle, the girls were off living their own lives. BB...I am so thrilled that you figured all of this out BEFORE your daughter is born ! Trust me, that gift to her is priceless.

So, it is a whole new active relationship with my DDs now...they are adjusting to how fit and physically capable I am. The concept of mom hitting the sidewalk after coffee and moving everywhere by foot until bed is totally new for them. It opens up so many doors and conversations and a whole new dimension to our relationship.

Just had to share my gratitude and joy !

Thank goodness that is all you have because I am not done chewing on yesterday! And I still have that sandwich to make. I am behind! I need some self efficacy!

I love your therapy sessions! I pulled the wiki page this morning but will have to fully engage when I have more time but it reminded me of that SNL skit where the character would look at himself in the mirror and say You are good enough, you are smart enough and Dog-gone it, people like you. I didn't remember, tho, that it was Al Franken's skit!

Yes, that's Stuart Smalley's favorite daily affirmation.

As affirmations go, it ain't a bad one.

Weight: 159.8

Still didn't eat very much yesterday. Stomach is still weak. Only made it a few hours at work. I'll be interested to see how much my weight rebounds by my appointment on Friday.

Diane O.-glad you get to go visit your daughter

Liz-sorry for all the trouble at work. If I remember correctly they're facing layoffs?

Greetings Fabulous People

I am back home after having to drag myself down to the big town for jury duty! What a pain. Like being in detention. We waited around a long time then got hustled up to a courtroom. Counsel was conferring with the judge. Then the judge announced they were going into chambers for awhile but we had to wait. Then they came back and the judge said that new evidence and witnesses had just come to their attention so they had to reschedule the case so we could leave. Its sprinkling and cold here so I am chilled and think I may go back to bed.

Liz report writing can be boring but it will all be over soon. Taking a cheese stick or other small snack is a good idea. I had them with me today.

I think I was at 137.5 today but was so bleary eyed when I had to get up early that I am not sure. Duh.

Love your good thoughts Diane O. What a gift to your kids that you can be so active and a gift to us that you share this history.

Shel, always loved that SNL self affirmation skit. Who'd a thunk Al Frankin would be in the senate and doing a good job too.

Last night I cooked this lentil pasta. It supposedly has 25g protein in a serving though it has the carbs and calories of lentils. I put sauce from a jar and parmesan cheese on it and it tasted great - like regular pasta. Only problem is that awhile later I had a belly ache and a case of the slimies. Haven't had that in a very long time. I should have skipped that last bite. I would eat it again but need to be careful about the portion and speed of consumption. Anyone else tried that stuff? I do recommend it even though I over did it.

Well Peace all. Over and out. Diane S

Where did you get the lentil pasta (brand?)? Sounds interesting...

Hi, the lentil pasta is Ancient Harvest POW non gmo green lentil pasta. I got it at our local organic food store. I suspect whole foods would have it. I went looking for a quinoa based pasta but found this instead. Should be able to find some at a health food store. Diane S
