VSG Maintenance Group
Monday September 18
Weight 115.5, calories 925. We had the most amazing sea bass last night (caught by our friends on Saturday morning. I marinated with DS's asada sauce (he makes a ton of it and freezes it periodically) and grilled it. Wow!
The rest of the day was pretty quiet though the weather was nice. DD finally got a dog yesterday. We will probably go meet him on Friday. He is a one year old black lab/boxer - really beautiful dog, and apparently quite affectionate (he was snuggling with DD on the couch last night). I guess he also loves riding in the car and sits very politely in the back seat (unlike my dogs). He is crate trained so will sleep there when they are at work.
Anyway, another work Monday (hmmm- only 8 Of them left after today). Have a monumental Monday!

Stayed up late last night to watch the Emmy Award Show and to snark online the Red Carpet fashion, and now I need a night of 9 hours of sleep. There's sooo much good programming on TV these days, but I can't seem to find the time to watch much of it. I guess that's what happens when you can finally get up off the couch and start moving, eh?
Yesterday's meals were delicious. I've never been a great cook, but yesterday I spent three hours on food -- grocery shopping, slicing and prepping, cooking, serving, and cleaning up. It's such a pleasure to do all that when I'm in the mood and there's actually time to do it. And we have some great leftovers.
BTW, I wound up NOT mowing this weekend -- it's just too dusty and dry. We actually could use a little rain.
Today I'll drive to The Big City for my monthly therapy appointment and some shopping, which I always look forward to.
It's a new week on Planet Earth. Winter's coming!

I DVR everything on TV so we can watch it on our schedule. Don't know how we managed before having one!

Mornin'!
I turned on the fireplace this morning. It rained yesterday and solid Seattle rain is predicted for today. Fall is here.
I made a quick white bean stew thing last night. But the best thing was that DD decided to have some and then had seconds. These days, my cooking rarely wins the battle. Processed foods are so seductive. She, the 16 year old, starts full time at community college today. She is still a high school student but will be earning college credits. Quite surreal for this ol' mom.
My little Tink was called a senior citizen at the groomer's yesterday. She's 8. DH asked if she got a discount.
A bit of family room yoga then off to work. I hope to catch studio yoga after work.
Hug your skinny,
Shel

Went into work today but for only an hour. Thought I was feeling better (throat less scratchy) but as I was driving into work, started the body aches - knees, hips, shoulders felt like I had done one of Devon's workouts or perhaps climbed one of Shel's mountains. Took temp when I got to work and it was 99.8 - I'm usually around the high 96's or low 97's so I know something is brewing for sure. Drove back home and stayed in bed until noon.
Up for just a bit and I might go back to bed or at least recline on the couch. Yuck!
Off to see if we have any chicken noodle soup in the pantry even though I am not hungry at all (the only plus for being sick!)
So glad you went home, Paula. Chicken soup is also what my body wants when it's feeling crappy.
