Happy Labor Day! After a very damp dreary day yesterday, today is supposed to be sunny and warm. We are going to meet friends at the beach.

Weight 117.25, calories 2141. We went out for dinner at the last open night at DS restaurant (he moves to another one under the same owner this week). I ate a lot of stuff I usually don't especially on the charcuterie board DS brought out so I deserve having the weight up. No regrets though. A busy work week with planned eating should work to drop it back down.

Our dinner out was with DS birth mom and her BF. We enjoy getting together periodically as her family has become an extension of ours since we reconnected and opened DS adoption 13 years ago (when he was 13).

Have a lazy Labor Day!

Liz, we ate tons of delish charcuterie up in Canada. I don't think the calories are high, but boy is that stuff laden with salt. And happily the water weight goes away fast.

Down here in the Ozarks I'm still on the veggies, fruits, and water train, while moving calories back up toward my historical 1,725 average.

Company arrives today, and I'll make a big pot of beef vegetable stew with cornbread for dinner. For dessert I'll blend up a simple mango / yogurt parfait. Tomorrow I'll make a pork loin roast with root veggies and a big salad. I realize this is nothing special for y'all who still cook a lot, but I don't do this anymore and am feeling a little performance anxiety.

Today will be the warmest day we've had in weeks (high 80s) -- a classic Labor Day. Hope it's a great one for everyone.

142 OTD, calories just under 1100 yesterday and my macros were pretty good too. Funny, my autocorrect just put macros as nachos, I wish! Lol! I did get a good 60+ minute walk in yesterday.

Cloudy day with off an on rains predicted. No set plans for today. Last day before the boys all go back to school.

Happy Labor Day!

It has been a while since I have cooked anything that takes more than 10 minutes to assemble. I plan on making a soup, today. I'll check out Whole Foods to see if I can see a difference in prices.

Seattle didn't care that Amazon was buying Whole Foods but there was general outrage that they were lowering prices on farm raised salmon. Last week, I literally had to say "stop talking about salmon" when I was about to take someone's blood pressure and he was ranting about how "that farm raised @&*# wouldn't even be able to breed with our salmon! It AIN'T salmon!" His hands were clenched in fury. (I raised his blood pressure meds.) Once, in Costco, there was a stunned crowd gathered in frozen foods looking for salmon and the only available was Atlantic. I didn't see anyone break ranks. I'll have to check out the Whole Foods fish counter.

Just got back from working out. Yin Yoga later today. Ann and Dave, any smoke in your air? I see that SW Iowa has enough to cause asthma flares and red sunsets.

Devon, I hope you are enjoying that mass of puppies this holiday weekend!

Hug your skinny,

Shel

One of our dieticians tells us farmed raised salmon is better for you - higher in omega 3s!

Yes, they are "fattier" (said with a Seattle sneer) ;)

Oh, those views! Thank you, Shel, for every single hiking photo you post!

Funny -- imagining the CostCo stunned Seattleites finding no Northwestern salmon.

And no smoke / fires down here. We're expecting a little rain down here tonight with a cool, cloudy day tomorrow. Maybe that'll clear the smoke out in Iowa, too.
