Liz... your island vacation shows !! I've started the board two days in a row ! Did some more trim painting and finished the decorative block boarder between river rock around house, and the lawn. I've an appointment for a full set of nails this morning, as I have let my nails rest all summer, while manual labor has been at the highest level. We're going to the NYS Fair Thursday, then back to Albany for some appointments and to empty the house of the final few things and leave the keys and some manuals, in anticipation of Wednesday's closing. Planning a trip to NYC to see my daughter in September, and a trip to Maine in October, for some much needed beach time.

Ann..thanks for the feedback from your informative check up. You had already encouraged me to increase fruits and vegetables, which has resulted in slightly less protein, as there is just so much I can eat at one time. I am also eating more complex grains. My carbs cravings have been manageable.

Have a energized, balanced day !!

Good morning! Yes I have been up at least an hour later than usual the last couple of days. Unfortunately that means that I didn't fall asleep until later than usual as well. I need to adjust that when I get home. We had wind and rain warnings as a tropical storm was supposed to graze Nantucket. We do have some of what was predicted, but the winds are only about 15 MPH vs the predicted 35 MPH. It is also supposed to clear by mid-morning.

Last night we went to a restaurant with small plates (but big expense). We did have a great meal and though I didn't feel like I overate, something didn't agree as my tummy was a little uncomfortable in bed. Back to regular eating today! I had packed my own breakfast and lunches to make it easier. DH has eaten muffins at the Inn and we buy him a sandwich for lunch (lots of pretty places to sit and eat at here).

THe photos below will give you flavor of the cottages on the pier, the cobblestone downtown and the stately in-town old homes.

Back to reality this afternoon.

Have a wise Wednesday!

So nice to have these lovely missives waiting here from DianeO, Liz and Duffman. This group is such a great support for my maintenance.

I'm feeling happy about my post-vacation 133-range weight. I can tell the difference in how my clothes fit when I drop a few pounds, and I like it. To stay here I'll have to exercise a little more than I have been this summer -- because I sure don't want to eat less. BTW, I'm starting to slowly ratchet my post-Vancouver 1300 cals/day regimen back up to 1700. Yes, my name is Ann, and I'm a little bit OCD. ;)

Liz, your pix of Nantucket are gorgeous. Somehow, I've never been there or Cape Cod either. When I'm in NYC and head up East, I usually just hurry up to Maine. Time to stop hurrying, eh?

We're getting ready for company next week, so today's theme is: GIT 'ER DONE!

Hi VSGAnn - do you keep your calories in the 1400 range for maintenance?

Oh, Lord, no! I'm only down in the 1300-1400 range lately because hubby and I recently returned from a fabulous 9-day vacation in Vancouver, BC, and I weighed 4.2 pounds heavier when I got home than when we left. Seven days later I've lost 5 pounds eating 1300-1400 cals/day. Obviously, a lot of my apparent vacation weight gain was due to water and poop retention.

My maintenance calorie budget is (please, don't laugh!) 1,723 calories/day. At least, that's what my daily calories have averaged on MFP in almost 2 years since I arrived at 135 pounds after losing 100 pounds. Obviously, I'm an MFP enthusiast.

It would be lovely if I could maintain on 2,500 calories/day. ;) But I'm so glad I don't have to try to survive on 1,100 calories.

BTW, I'm coming up on 72 years of age, and I exercise 5 days a week (yoga, aquarobics, walking) and work a lot on our 25 acres in beautiful Missouri.

Good morning!

Liz, I am, as always, enjoying your pictures! What a nice respite.

DianeO, I wish I had a 10th of your productivity!

Ann, I am still taking in your post from yesterday. Good stuff, that. I sent an email to one of our dieticians asking if there is anything new on coconut oil from the evidence based world. I looked on PubMed but I wouldn't know a good nutrition journal from a bad one so might as well ask someone who is in the business. There was, however, a case report of a body builder who was injecting coconut oil to improve contours! He ended up in hospital with various types of tissue damage. Maybe he would have done better with canola ;)

Food has been pretty good. My Iowa weight is gone. I'm still working on improving conditioning/strength.

I have a guided exercise class of one sort or another every day this week except for Sat. On Sat, I am hiking with my neighbor. She is a few years older but has always been in fabulous shape so I am feeling a bit nervous. Her husband avoids hiking with her because he likes to "stroll" (his description) and she likes to go "straight up." We have the hike picked out so I know what I am getting into from that standpoint.

Hug your skinny,

Shel
