Wednesday August 23

Good morning. Long trip yesterday. DW's doctor visit went well. We also took our Honda to the dealer for some recall work. We had been having some problems with our AC so we had it checked out. $700 later... They have to order parts and go back. I would think it is cheaper to replace the whole AC unit. Seems like every time we take it into the dealer it is another $K. Okay enough whining I will pay it to enjoy the AC and to know it was fixed right.

Eating was mostly ok but I did eat an ice cream cone on the way home. I didn't get the strawberry shortcake that was getting to be our weekly habit. But knew I was going to focus a lot more starting today.

Sept is my favorite month too. Things around here start to cool off. It has been a mild year for heat this year. Hoping Sept is the perfect temp this year.

More later, David

I know what you mean about car repairs - nothing is cheap!

Weight 116, calories 1025. In two offices today, so this is a quick post. Lots of lunches/dinners out over the next week so I have to choose carefully.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Weight: 160.4

I tried to watch what I ate a little better yesterday. But some chocolates got in my way

B: 1/2 everything bagel with cream cheese, poached egg, orange juice

L: 1/2 lunch out (chipotle meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans...will eat remaining today)

S: 8 (EIGHT!!!) mini hershey nuggets. Spread out throughout day. Clearly these aren't safe in my desk! Fiber one chocolate cookie. String cheese and pickle. Tried to eat apple/peanut butter snack but the apples were clearly old in that pack so I tossed it.

D: 1/4 cheeseburger, cheesefries shared with table (BOTH kids wanted to go out to eat with us...I suspect it has more to do with wanting free food than us, but I'll take it either way)

So, as you see, the best intentions. I'm actually not so mad about the food I ate with the exception of the chocolate. That was ridiculous. I keep getting really hungry midday (especially since I cannot fill up my stomach too much I think?) but then by dinnertime I was pretty full. Healthier foods are starting to sound better, so I hope to clean up my diet. Maybe even return to the gym!

Chocolate is a pushy broad. (Is that a sexist statement?)

Good Morning Friends!

Dave, I saw a campsite offering an airstream as a camper for 196.00 per night and it isn't nearly as nice as yours. The hosts do provide breakfast. I would hate to cook for strangers. But I figure that you can focus on what you do best: nuts and yogurt. Honestly, who doesn't love nuts and yogurt? Maybe a dollop of whip cream, Devon-style. I realize that your airstream is already occupied but still I couldn't help think of you as I flipped thru the on-line tour of "Rivet." Does your Airstream have a name that is fit for print?

I am home today, taking care of home business. Morning workout is complete and yoga is planned for later. For thrills, I will be the backseat driver as my daughter navigates the freeway and unfamiliar streets to her violin lesson.

I'm not sure I have a favorite month. Or even a least favorite.

Hug your skinny!

Shel

Pic below is the fire lookout from last week's hike. It is no longer used in an official capacity but local mountaineers keep it in good shape and most (like this one) are open for campers.

The most expensive room I could find in Arkansas is $145 per night. The highest in Little Rock is $129 At the Marriott. No one could afford $200 a night for an airstream here unless the guns and ammo were provided. LOL. I don't have a name for it yet but I keep wanting to call her "DONE" but she refuses to be. The $800 top of the line Atwood, continuous ho****er heater, keeps trying to blow up so I just turned it off and wash dishes in cold water. We shower in the shop. I also have to build removable underpinning to get it insured as a mobile home. I can only insure it for $4K because I did all of the remodel on it. Maybe I'll name her "almost done"
