Yikes, a bunch of busy (or sleepy) people today!

Day "off" today but will be busy with housecleaning and laundry.

Weight remains fairly stable, maybe up 1/2 lb. today. Didn't get my walk in on Sunday like I had planned on. Day got away from me with grocery shopping, errands and making dinner for the family.

Weather here feels much more like Fall than the end of summer. With Ben's surgery and healing, I don't feel like I had a summer at all which sucks because it is my favorite time of year. Oh well, I would rather have a cancer free husband than a great summer!

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

Paula

Hello all!

I am certainly sleepy today, not sure why. Yesterday was a holiday from traffic, no doubt related to the eclipse. Many peeps traveled down to Oregon (sorry, Oregon) and I think others simply took the day off. We could watch it from our clinic windows. Felt a bit like a block party for a few minutes with people sharing eclipse glasses rather than food.

Speaking of food, I have been enjoying Trader Joe's sweet potato ribbons. It is just sweet potatoes sliced into thin ribbons. I throw some into zucchini/summer squash stir fry and then wilt spinach into it. So pretty.

I also feel like summer passed way too fast tho when I look at the calendar we could still have several weeks of very nice weather.

Hug your skinny tight!

Shel

September is one of the best months on Cape Cod: The ocean and air are still warm and most of the tourists are gone. The reduction in the number of tourists actually starts this week. Last weekend was the height for that with the Falmouth Road Race, then it declines dramatically. They don't even have people monitoring the beach parking anymore.

I have been sleeping late the past few days. Today I was up bright and early but on the road to dr office in Little Rock for DW. No wt this morning but feel like it is up. I need to put every bite in MFP for a few days to see the numbers on the grazing. I'm afraid it would shock me. Writing this on my phone so more later, David

I can't wait for September! It's my favorite month! It's my birthday month, and here in Oklahoma we get a slight reprieve from the heat, yet it's still hot enough most days to swim, cookout, etc. It's the best of both worlds imho--still hot, but mornings and evenings a little crisper with the promise of cozy fall. And I'm a fall-o-holic, so I love when sunflowers begin to usher in mums. And I can start to wear booties and cardis with dresses! And the sound of HS bands practicing on a chilly (er) morning!!! And football starts up and we don our crimson and cream (Boomer sooner!). And then I get a whole weekend of celebration of me haha!! Maybe it oughtta be a week this year!--it's a new decade after all!

Weight: 161. At least it's not climbing too quickly now! But still, a hard sight to see. And I'm afraid I'm not quite thin enough to pull off that "basketball belly" look. :( I really underestimated how hard this is going to be mentally. Like not being able to buy any clothes that I want...harkens back to a time (my ENTIRE life before 22) when only a few shops sold clothes I could buy, and usually relegated to one rack of clothing items :( I'm a lot hungrier currently. But I have so little trust in my body. Am I hungry? Or am I just conveniently making excuses for myself?! What a mind F. And I'm worried if I let myself eat what I want/how I feel now, how will I go back to being disciplined later? Arrrghh!

I'm curious if I'll have a bump or my tummy tuck will hold it in? I'm less concerned with my TT because honestly I needed a revision anyhow. It's really just a matter of the extent. I still have plenty of skin laxity (probably needed a fleur-de-lis anchor but don't want the scar) and I definitely needed scar extended past hip bones--I have more love handles on the side now than before because that's where it just stops. But what I'm most concerned about is not getting more stretch marks high up where they cannot be concealed. I'm hoping that maybe my TT "girdle" combined with excess skin that remains will reduce the occurrence of new stretch marks on me. But I guess c'est la vie.

DH and I just got back from 4 days in Las Vegas. Considering we ate as we pleased, I'm not too mad about my weight.

Greetings all

still in La and lazing about. Sip is a food pusher and nephew brought over "eclipse" Krispy Kreme's. Chocolate icing. I ate a bit of penumbra of one.

maybe a beach day or more lazing. Dinner tonight must be at five sharp due to other nephews little kids and schedules. Fat chance.

no weight but I am sure it's not good.

dh is staring at me wanting me to get going. Guess I'd better. Diane s

ps, bb I am a cornhusker alum. Go big red.

209. I am out of control. My crying jags are also out of control. I ate 3/4 of a bag of Fritos and think I poisoned myself. At least it felt like I did. Y'see my baby P-Nutt broke his foot and it was my fault. Instead of buying the bag of DD coffee from Costco that I like that comes in a bag, I bought the cheaper can of coffee... as I was putting it away, I dropped it and jumped out of the way. P-Nutt took the hit to his paw and yelped. He didn't cry. I did. After a trip to the ER vet who basically presented me with an estimated contract for as much money for all the money in my checking account (which was earmarked for important bills), they gave him pain relief, did Xrays and wrapped him in a cast. Shockingly, the estimate was $2 less than the high end of the quote and for all of the money in my account. They told me I have to come back every week for the next 6 to 8 weeks to have the dressing changed -- for $175 every visit but maybe my vet could do it for less. He could, but still close to $100/visit. I called an animal clinic down south but they aren't accepting any new pets. I called another more reasonable vet who were recommended by the shelter to neuter the puppies. They could do it for around $75/visit ($450-$600) and suggested I contact the SPCA.

Well, God Bless the SPCA, because they will help us out. I didn't even tell them about the human medical pickles I'm juggling with my daughter and son. (And support has stopped again, smh, so I will need to go back to court again). They are already gathering Tutt's medical records and getting plans together for his visits.

I finally was able to upload a picture of the baby's cast, but it's not available to attach yet. sigh

So sorry to hear about P-Nutt! So glad that SPCA can help out. I rather hate that ex-husband of yours.
