VSG Maintenance Group
Sunday August 20
Weight ? until Tuesday (company in room), calories 1753, 73 work days to retirement.
We had a great dinner out at DS' restaurant last night: wonderful halibut and there are probably 2 leftover meals.
This morning is the 45th running of the Falmouth Road Race, so we will be staying out of the area it encompasses today. We may go to beaches on the west side.
I am working all week for the first time since the beginning of summer so that will be painful, but the following week I am taking 3 days off to go to Nantucket with DH for our 36th anniversary and the week after that is Labor Day week. At that point there will only be 3 months of fulltime wor****il retirement!
Have a super Sunday!

We got a late start yesterday. DW and I went to our house to do some yard work. Got the 3 acres mowed. Ran the weed eater over most of it. Weeded the flowers and sprayed roundup on the edges and gravel driveway. Both of us got too hot. And sunburned. When we were living there we would do a little bit at a time. Trying to do 8 hours straight about killed us both. Day before yesterday I mowed the yard in the woods and my son's yard. He has a kubota zero turn mower that I borrowed to do all the mowing. It has a shock absorber in the seat so it is easier on the back.
Visit with brother and SIL went well. RV space in Tulsa was wet and owner said it was a no go until it quit raining there. So they left the 5th wheel here until they get back from a planned vacation. When we drive up it looks crowded somehow.
We have a mouse in the airstream again. Traps re baited with fresh peanut butter. He nibbled on a protein bar in her purse and it chewed up an expensive hand towel DW had gotten for $1. Had never even used it. I will use it in the shop for a rag now. I like the feel of nice linens. We made sheets from 600 thread count queen sheets because you can't find good sheets for twins.
More later, David

Yay for 73 more work days Liz!
Hope Ann and Shel had a great had a great meet up. How I would have loved to have joined them.
Devon, loving the puppy pics!
What a great birthday dinner Diane. Loved the romantic dinner Chuck planned out for you!
Joey, sorry your family problems continue.
I'm doing well. Got 2 good walks in this week and plan another one for today. Eating still could use some improvement. Weight stable around 142-144 lbs. Would feel more comfortable 10 lbs. less and even happier if I lost 15. Would have to decrease calories quite a bit. Not sure I'm ready to give it up yet, but soon!
Supah Sunday to you all!
Ann and I get together today. I am full of anticipation. I feel like I am meeting with Yoda. You just know that Ann knows stuff, right?
Yesterday, I was on perhaps the Best Hike of the summer. Layer and layer of beauty. 8.5 miles, and about 3400 gain. Views everywhere. I think I'll post pics all week. While each view isn't that different than what I have seen on other hikes, this one had a new, spectacular view around every corner, it seemed. I was filled with immense gratitude until the last mile when all I could think is "get me off this damn mountain!"
Dave, I am sunburned, too. I am meeting Ann today so her memory of me is going to be Red-Faced-Shel. And, my curling iron died. I am going to look quite natural today. And my car is covered with mountain dust. I am not ready to meet an internet friend!
Have a great day! Shel
