No Weight until tomorrow- calories 1003 - 74 workdays to retirement (not that I'm counting).

Busy day today: WFH for a couple of hours, drop DSD off at Martha's Vineyard ferry, drive to Boston for Dexa scan and RMR, move to BU Med Center for DH's clinical trial checkup, then drive home. And I can't have anything bu****er until after the RMR so it will be accurate (my head already wants caffeine).

I just read Dave's post from yesterday - have I mentioned that DS has been here for several months now, along with a friend for at least 2 and I have not seen any rent money, nor does there look like there is any movement toward finding a rental? The house across the street is for rent and would be perfect, but I don't think he has called. Theoretically he was going to help with his Dad. I think that may have happened twice, possibly 3 times. I'm going to have to bring up the topic AGAIN.

Have a great Thursday!

Good Morning from the 62+ side !! My birthday surprise was beyond my wildest expectations ! Not only was the location a private tower at our favorite winery, overlooking the lake, vineyards, and a folk musician, but Chuck chose the perfect VSG tapas menu. (The best sushi grade salmon I've ever had, meats & cheeses, fruit and a salad.) As you can see in the FB post, legs a bit swollen and I barely put a dent in the salad ! The manager prepared a special pairing of wines for us, and I drank and ate simultaneously for the first time since surgery. Now I know how why that is not such a great idea.

Second massage in a week, looking for a great person to barter space / Reiki services with. The first therapist gave an awesome massage, but was working out of a chiropractic office, in a pairing with limited remaining space. The therapist today has an office near our home, and one on the lake, which she prefers. She is also very interested in Reiki, so hopefully this will feel like a fit.

Live the most out of every day !!

We are in heaven, although they call it Vancouver!

No reported weight, no cals or macronutrients. I don't track anything while traveling or on vacation. It's a deal I made years ago with my therapist who wants me to become better at mindful eating. In any event, the food (along with everything else here) is glorious. I'm enjoying everything in moderation, as they say, still flushed with my third surgiversary stable weigh-in on Monday. Actual surgiversary date is tomorrow.

Yesterday I walked 5 miles along Coal Harbor and into Stanley Park. What a beautiful place this is. We're living on the hotel gold floor, so daily breakfast, nibbles, and canapés (more than enough for dinner) are included.

Today I'll do yoga before breakfast, walk into the park again, do a hot tub, then shop or a museum this afternoon. This really does not suck! LOL. We fantasize about retiring here, trundling down to the club lounge for breakfast in our robes. We are great at imagining alternate lifestyles. Yet I know that at home the grass is still growing. ;)

I'm happy for all who are doing well right now and sad for those who are struggling with adult children trying to launch fully. Real life is such a mix of things, usually at the same time.

Except, of course, for weeks in Vancouver, for which I am incredibly GRATEFUL! See you on Sunday, Shel!

Greetings Exceptional People

Still at 136.5. Long day yesterday with board meeting and all. Meeting with banker this afternoon to begin hashing out some of my mom's estate.

DH and I had a talk about old dog Liza today. We are afraid she might die while we are out of town for a few days so I have to come up with a plan for our pet sitter. Vet says our sitter can bring the remains in and they will set up cremation. Won't make for much of a fun trip worrying about the old girl.

Hey Diane O, sounds like a great birthday. And Ann, the pacific northwest is paradise. Thats why we retired here. Its expensive though.

Yeah, adult children seem to be like asteroids; always orbiting. Seems like its so hard to get started in life these days with the cost of living being what it is. Its hard to be a grown up. Just ask my DH! LOL he has never grown up.

Its a sunny day and even the dogs are panting some from 70 degree weather.

Cheers all diane s

I thought of this article yesterday when I read your post. I hope you don't mind, but I think it's worth the read. I think it's time to look at overall quality rather than one or two indicators. Meant with only love and support.
