I have missed a lot of great discussions over the past week. Just caught up.
Being caught in a place of being taken advantage of with grown children seems to be abundant. DD#1 is not paying utilities, has never paid enough to be considered rent and now I have taken the yard duties back so it will not get out of control. I just can't do the tough love thing because she is pregnant. It seems she is trying to get her life squared away. So much for my plans of an income stream.
Family secrets run way back. Distillation of grains and distribution was part of it. Divorce when it was not so easily accepted and unwed pregnancies.
This week has been extra busy. DIL's father passed. A month ago he was taking care of his cows. DS#1 and DIL spent so much time with him in the end. We ended up dog sitting, yard mowing, herding cows out of the road and mending fences. He was a well loved person and the parking lot at the funeral home looked like the whole county came by to pay last respects.
Plus my brother and SIL brought their 5th wheel trailer to visit. We didn't have to do much meal prep because they brought their kitchen. LOL. We worked on some trim in their trailer and yesterday we made 2 sets of dominoes. It took about 5 hours. Found something very similar on eBay for $12. With a case and free delivery. Don't guess we will be going into the domino making business.
