Weight ?, calories 1711. Eating was not terrible, and the slice of blueberry pie was well worth the calories.

Scary research about after year 4-5. We definitely have to stay vigilant and find other ways to stay motivated! I think daily weighing and tracking (seeing it) in addition to posting here and following self-established eating rules gives me a lot of motivation, but who knows if that will be enough then!

We are still up north and it is going to be a beautiful day here. It was much nicer yesterday than originally forecasted so we had a very enjoyable day. I took a long walk partway around the lake and back and will probably do the same this morning. We aren't leaving until late afternoon, hoping to be after the Sunday afternoon traffic.

Have a wonderful day!

Here is a view from the foot of the lake:

Liz, your weekend at the lake photos are wonderful. It's fun to project into those spaces and imagine being there.

This morning's half hour of sun salutations on the deck was such a pleasure. I'll miss yoga on the deck when cold weather arrives. I'm taking my yoga mat, block and belt to Vancouver -- first time for me to travel with yoga gear. I've grown to enjoy it so much I don't want to miss doing it on vacation.

Yesterday I walked in the woods and mowed in the afternoon. I'll be back out on the mower soon. It's looking really good around here. We have had a wonderful summer in the country, although the season started out rough with so much clean-up from storms and floods. But as the bard said, all's well that ends well.

:)

P.S. And yes -- Year Four is going to bring a lot more "opportunities for personal growth," which is fancy talk for what hubby and I call our challenges. Bring it on!

Breaking news ... The baby wrens have flown! All five of them. It happened this morning sometime after 6:00 am, when we heard them still peeping in the nest. And now 4 hours later, they've launched themselves.

We wish we could have seen their big debut. Happily, I found this little video online by someone who filmed the launching of wren babies. Those little boogers just BLOW out of the nest! Bam! And they're gone.

Supah Sunday, to ya all!

Liz, beautiful picture!

I'm enjoying the post 3 year discussion and grateful to this group. I see how it is too easy to add "just a little" of this or that back. There is a part of my brain that enables that behavior, literally keeping it off the books. It cannot, literally, though, keep it off my thighs. My 3 year is coming up in Dec.

There was a particularly spectacular potluck at work last week. I rarely participate in them (and didn't know about this one) but I do sit with the group and socialize. That no longer feels weird. There was lots of spectacular overeating. I can't see returning to THAT anytime soon. But, I can see how a couple of those desserts, full portions, could be rationalized.

I have been researching my new 5am exercise routine. (Yes, one would think I would have done that before signing up. I blame poor air quality.) I knew it was a HIIT routine but didn't realize that HIIT truly shouldn't be done everyday. I was hoping for Mon-Fri. That's a bummer, I really liked an in-person, guided class every single day before work. I'm still looking forward to the HIIT classes 3-4 times a week but will need commit to something else on other days. 10-12 work days (even if just 4 times a week) makes it hard to go to something afterwork for a variety of reasons. The other pharmacist has having some work-life balance issues, too, with our new-ish schedule, so we will be tweaking.

Air quality is improved if my non-itchy eyes are a good judge. I'll need to go back to Mt Pilchuck on a sunny day to truly appreciate the views but the hike itself was a wonderful re-introduction to nature. 6 miles, moderate hiking but the trail was very rocky, an excellent balance challenge for me. The last small section before the look out was a scramble up steep boulders and finally a metal ladder that was truly frightening. If I didn't have people waiting for me to move, I am not sure I would have completed it. On the way back down that awful section, it started to sprinkle which REALLY compelled me to get a move on. It felt pretty good to complete that portion. The rain stopped, too.

A couple of pictures....mostly clouds are obstructing views tho I think there is still some smoke haze. Still beautiful. Only smelled smoke once....otherwise it just smelled like mountain, or sweaty woman.

Time to plan my skinny self care for the week, Shel

Shel, those are some pretty spectacular mountain scenes, even with particulates in the atmosphere. I thank you so much for all these pix -- reminds me of all my great hiking years when I lived in California.

She'll..I really want to do some hikes with you !! Ann... When I go back to my old house the final time before closing, I'll be picking up my magnificent Buddha . I've found an east facing spot for him, and plan to incorporate Reiki Sun Salutations on a daily basis. I, too, am anxious to learn from all of you for year three. I'm past the scale measuring my value, although I need it for accountability to the range I have determined is best for me (134-139). I am there, and grateful.

Mowed today, and have the master bathroom left to paint. I'm thrilled Chuck went with purples, knowing they are my favorite. He has arranged a surprise for my birthday this coming Wednesday. Lots of hints, and I'm thrilled and eager to see !!!

Love you all ! I want one of Devon's puppies !!!

Come on out! I feel like I have a whole menu of hikes to pick from!

Can you post a picture of the Budda? I don't remember if he is to be photographed. I'll have to goggle Reiki Sun Salutations to see how they differ from my usuals.
