I had a wonderful deck yoga session yesterday morning under a beautiful sunrise. But soon the day turned cloudy, and we had afternoon rain. Today will be more of the same, so it's weeding and no mowing for me. I'll also make an early grocery run. Otherwise, I plan to read and do my Sunday Spa thingamajig.

The five baby wrens in the green vase on our screen porch are now fledged and whispering high-octave peeps. The parents (turns out both Mom and Dad feed the babies) fly in and out of the porch bringing bits of grasshopper and worm. Their partnership, coordination, and communication is something to behold.

T.G.I.Sunday.

Ann... love reading about your days ! What a fabulous role model you are! Love the waiting list plan ! Paula and Ben, welcome home ! Sending positive energy !! We are some group of animal lovers !! Positive energy, too, for all of the growing and declining fur babies and all those in between. BB, there's lots of that energy left for your baby !

Was pants and long shirts weather yesterday. Visited Curtiss Museum. What an amazingly talented local inventor, who made his fortune in planes, boats and motorcycles internationally. Had quiche out, and actually like my crustless frittata better ! Back up in my range, with a little help from Halo Top ice cream. The high protein helps me make that target, and the low sugar keeps the craving meter under control. I can easily make a pint last three days.

Protect your skinny and enjoy every moment of your day !

Thank you, Diane O, for thinking I'm a "role model." You're a reiki master, and I'm someone who falls over on Warrior I or II or III or triangle or pyramid (I still get the names for those standing poses confused!). What I mostly am right now is adoring being retired. :)

That is so cool that you can watch the wren family. Soon they will be learning to fly and you'll be watching for cats along with the mama wren!

What great news that Ben and Paula are home. He will be able to relax and heal so much more than in the hospital.

I got a lot of overdue errands done yesterday in the grey weather. The small amount of rain ended and the sun was out by 5. We had an early dinner at the Lobster Trap restaurant and guess what we all had? I only had half of my lobster roll (no bun) and it was GOOD. I was a little put out that they upcharged $2 to substitute grilled vegetables for French fries. Even at a restaurant it costs more to eat healthy!

I'm making BBs pork kabobs with peppers for dinner tonight. In between it appears to be a beach day!

Oh - have any of you tried the Halo Top ice cream? OMG, it is good! Thank goodness ice cream isn't a huge call to me. I had previously bought this low calorie Arctic Zero stuff and ended up throwing it out as it wasn't worth eating.

Have a great end to the weekend (why do they go so fast?)!

Good morning everyone

smoke haze is becoming worse with the sun blood red.

Glad that everyone is home/ relaxing/ pet caring/visiting museums/having babies/servants to beloved dogs. A busy summer.

huge bear in yard yesterday afternoon. Bold as brass just relaxing on the lawn and then climbed into the plum tree and sat there munching away. Sadly he/ she is limping but could still run when the family drove into the yard. Wrens sound delightful.

Greetings Wildlife Watchers

136.5 today. Gotta get serious about dropping a couple. Maybe tomorrow.

Is so cool that we all have wildlife to watch! Not sure I would like a bear in my back yard but I am loving the humming birds that feast on the bee balm plant. We used to keep a feeder but I think they like the real plant nectar best. I think its an "Anna's" hummingbird. Its feeding now. If you have been around humming birds you know they are not shy and will "buzz" right over your head.

Ann, bet those little wrens are fun. It is amazing how animals instinctively know how to care for their babies. The eagles on the eagle camera were always such good parents which is why they raised broods over many years.

Carbon are they making any progress on those fires? Sounds like you should be prepared to evacuate. I read an article that smoke from wood fires is just as bad for you as cigarette smoke.

So glad everyone is kind of into relaxation mode. Its what these so called golden years are about. I tend to get stressed about dumb stuff and need to just accept what I can't fix. Of course, I could fix the piles of papers and junk that surround me but I would rather drink coffee and play on the internet.

Its overcast here today and DH is out with the dog. Our neighbor's dogs have been barking like crazy and we may go check on her to make sure everything is ok.

Well time to get more coffee and plan my day of leisure. Diane S

Boy, do I relate! I've already had two naps -- first one for 1.5 hours, second for half an hour. Boy, rainy weather makes me nod right off!
