Weight 116, calories 1018. DH and I are leaving for Boston in about an hour for his neurologist appointment, then we have to make a repeat trip on Friday for the clinical trial. Traffic will be a joy...
The fire alarm in the room I am in is beeping for a new battery (driving me crazy), but it is 16 feet up. The room was added on 2.5 years ago so this is the first time we have had to contend with it. I'm not sure what to do: Our 6 foot ladder certainly isn't going to work.
Have a good hump day - good luck on all your endeavors!

Paula, I saw Diane's news late last night and read on www.caringbridge.com this morning that your insurance came through in the nick of time with approvals for Ben's surgery, with a long testing day today and surgery tomorrow. Yea! I know you'll be busy and tired, but please take good of yourself.
Carbon, sorry your day wasn't so good. I hope today's is better.
Liz, I hear you on the stresses of traveling to see doctors. My own road trip yesterday (to another city) to see the dermatologist was bad for my nutrition. I wound up eating only a single veggie all day. I also drank a Diet Coke, which is a rare event and made my stomach feel very acidy. And then there was the McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone. After the McDonald's cheeseburger. Overall, calories weren't out of range, but it sure wasn't a healthy eating day. Today I plan to eat from the garden.
Tomorrow we have another day-long road trip (different city) to see hubby's new eye doctor. I'm going to plan the day's menu so it doesn't turn out like yesterday's. We are ready to stay home, since "home alone" is our favorite thing to do.
My consulting report is due on Friday. It's been tough for me to focus on, probably because I'm not all that interested in the work anymore, and I'm feeling the pressure. But, as they say, it's time to TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS.
BTW, last night I read some great advice about how to deal with procrastination, i.e., my consulting report. I'll summarize the advice in four letters, which you can easily decipher: JFDI!

I'm good at setting goals and priorities and dealing with the top priorities but boy can I procrastinate about the things further down in the plan/list. Yes, JFDI!

Ditto here re numerous things on my to-do lists.
BTW, re your smoke alarm battery -- we have the same situation and just have to have the company that installed our alarm system come out and change our too-high-to-climb-up-to battery. We aren't willing to risk a fall. It's literally an upside / downside risk analysis. ;)

My mom gave my younger brother a book on conquering procrastination one year for Christmas. He threw it over his shoulder and said he would read it later. Still funny!
from a couple of days ago.....that flower seed head is from Anemone occidentalis, aka western pasque flower. I found it by googling crater lake seed head.

I hadn't seen that insurance came through for Ben! Good luck with everything Paula. I'm glad this battle (insurance) was a win.
