Saturday July 22
Yeah Saturday! Weight 114.5, calories 1635. I like going into the weekend at my low-point. We ate at DS' restaurant last night and had another great meal. He loves to bring us a charcuterie board on the house (I didn't even know what charcuterie was until DS went to chef school). We took half of it home. I had half a burger that was incredible - it tasted like chopped high-end steak! He says we can emulate it by buying grass-fed beef at Whole Foods for about $7 a pound. Completely worth it!
The weather prediction is pretty good this weekend though earlier in the week we thought it would be raining both days, so beach may be in our plans again. Yesterday afternoon the beach was the only place to be as it was 90 inland with humidity and no breeze. That is unusual on Cape Cod where it rarely gets above the low 80s. The doggies stay in the air conditioning with their heart conditions during this kind of weather. I probably should get dressed soon and take them for a walk this morning while it is cool as they didn't get one yesterday.
Have a wonderful day my friends!

That's my favorite way of relaxing too!

Good morning Friends!
Weight same. Didn't get word from the insurance company regarding DH's surgery yet. We need to leave Tuesday for the pre-op appt. Hope they let us know before then! I have a bad feeling.......!
Busy editing Senior pictures for one of DS#2s classmates. Guess I'll get laundry ready in case we are traveling next week. DS#1 will come home for a day, has not been home all summer long!
Oh boy - that's tough to not know until last minute. I'll pray that approval comes through on Monday.

Greetings Good People
Down a pound to 137. Hope this trend continues. When traveling one tends to pick up extra "baggage" of the temporary kind.
Not much in the fridge but I made scrambled eggs with a few shrimp and peas last night topped with a bit of cheese. It was a satisfying and healthy dinner.
I also got to the art studio yesterday and had a few kiln treats waiting for me. Caught up on gossip and have lots to glaze. Still not unpacked and laundry to be done.
Paula hope the insurance thing comes through. Insurance companies make you sick by causing stress. Then they won't pay for it.
Good on you Carbon for taking a reading day. I am doing an art series on reading to kids with animal figures.
Liz hope you get to the beach. Isn't it great running a dog nursing home?
Devon, hope the puppies are thriving.
Diane O, sounds like you are having lots of new adventures. Hey Shel, I want to do Crater lake too someday.
I have been awol from the gym for a bit but plan to get back monday for old people's exercise. They told me older people tend to lose strength most in the upper leg muscles. In my case thats true. So we work on that a lot.
Well time to start cleaning up and get some healthy groceries. Peace all.

I'll have to look around for prices on the beef. Yes the doggie nursing home is interesting. Pee pads everywhere and a load of old towels to wash daily!

Yep, cheap ground beef. I have come to prefer the grass fed and its cheaper than the regular stuff in the grocery. But the other cuts are more expensive. No Whole Foods here but plenty of other health food options.
16 year old Liza pooped in her crate last night. It was quite exciting at 6 am when hubby carried the soiled crate outside and blobs of poop were falling out and he stepped in it. All cleaned up now and bedding in the wash. This old doggie is not long for this world but I still see some life in her eyes and she gobbles her food. Lives to eat even if its mostly rice and pumpkin. Diane S
As long as they are happy, but yes, sometimes the doggie bathroom issues are trying...
