Weight 115.75, calories 813.

I am only working a couple of hours this morning, then I have 2 vet appointments and one car has to service (30 minutes away so I'll have to wait for it). The check is supposed to come from the insurance company for the drowned car today so hopefully it will be here by 4. I need to get a cashiers check for the new car at the bank so I can pick the new car first thing tomorrow. I'll be glad when I'm done with the mechanics and I guess I'll get excited about the new car once I have it but I really haven't gotten there yet.

BIL was here twice this week to do things with DH while I worked, which was good for him. We have a friend who is tied in with a lot of people in our local town helping BIL look into disabled low-income housing. He wasn't really staying at the room he rents for the last couple of years while he cared for his mother and now he needs to get out. With his newly found desire to be near other family members this seems like a good option since both we and his sister are here (and one other brother is thinking about moving here when his wife retires).

I just looked on FB: 11 puppies!!! Ella looks exhausted! Congratulations Devon - I hope you get caught up on your sleep.

Have a great Thursday!

143.something. Up. Grrrr.

If Ben has surgery next week, he won't be eating for a month (tube feeding). I made him his favorite chocolate chip cookies last night and of course have been eating them too!

Super busy with work, Senior pictures and trying to get the house in order for us to be gone for surgery. Still working on dog and youngest child care - the 2 older boys will be gone all next week. DS#3 is fine staying alone, but I need back-up for him in case he needs to get somewhere by car. He is a very mature 14 year old, but nonetheless, still a young teen!

How far away will you be for the surgery and will you be able to go home once Ben is released from the hospital? Any word on insurance?

Mayo is about 4 hours away from us but my brother lives about 50 minutes away from Mayo, so I can stay there. Ben should be able to be released home since I can take care of him. Might need visiting nurses, but I doubt it unless he needs changes in IVs or feeding tubes.

No word on insurance yet. I called today and they said we should know if the pre-op testing is approved by the end of the day tomorrow. They stated on the phone "they have a full 14 days to get approvals done". Doesn't help us much when surgery is scheduled for next week and pre-op stuff starts on Tuesday!

Paula, how's your ticker? Did the cardiologist want you to do anything for YOU?

Peace to you and family.

Awww, thanks for thinking of me! I hardly bother with myself with all the other people I need to take care of! I was put on a low dose of Metoprolol - 12.5 mg bid. I have not tolerated well in the past due to low blood pressures, so we shall see. Currently I'm running in the low 90's systolically and doing okay with it! Have an echo scheduled for Aug. 2nd. We will see if I can keep the appt. with Ben's surgery.

Paula, two words: Self care. Or maybe it's one word: Self-care.

You deserve ALL the same level of care you're giving everyone else. Maybe more.

drive by post for me as well

I guess the M/s ha**** I was being awakened from dead sleep with the urge to vomit--and even down to bile. It's horrendous. Not sure I can keep down anything. It's only been less than a day. How do people cope? I feel so weak. Staying at home today.

I'm supposed to fly to Orlando with my sister tomorrow for weightloss surgery meetup. Really questioning that plan. It sucks to forfeit my plane ticket, and surely I'll still have to pay my share of the hotel room. But the alternative is going there, being a damper, and potentially being really ill. Idk what to do.
