"Technically" you may not need to gain weight but it is normal for your body to call for more food and for you to be more tired. And even if the baby isn't growing super fast in weight yet, sometimes your breasts may be growing, so I think it is normal to have some gain as long as you aren't nauseous. There must be graphs with expected normal weight gain ranges over time during pregnancy? Perhaps that would help some of your anxiety over the gain. I was only pregnant once 45 years ago (had 2 others arrive via adoption). I still remember the serious hunger, exhaustion and sore breasts in the first couple of months. I think I only gained 25 pounds in total during the pregnancy which was what I was told to gain at that time from a normal starting weight. I gained most of my excess weight when my kids were toddlers (with all 3).
I just found this on Google: "If you're a healthy weight before pregnancy: Three to five pounds during the first trimester. Approximately one to two pounds per week in the second trimester. Approximately one to two pounds per week in the third trimester."

Yeah that's what concerns me. I'd think they'd be taking into account the fluid gain as well? I'm all caught up on an entire trimester of weight gain :( But so far today I'm doing better keeping with my plan.
My only symptom is fatigue--and I could make an argument that it's because I've been too busy (like a late-night concert last night). I wanna be grateful, but it also makes me worried if this isn't a healthy pregnancy. Hoping to see a healthy heartbeat next Thursday!!
I think your anxiety is perfectly normal. I think it's fine, too, that you are spending energy thinking about it and even planning food and calories. It is a true and valid concern for you.
While I have never been pregnant (LOL), I have had many coworkers and dogs who have been. I can vouch for the fact that exhaustion, especially early on, is part of the package! It will get better, then near the end you'll be exhausted again.
Remember, your baby is what you eat. One of my co teachers has an OB who gives her patients a little card to carry that reads, "A healthy diet makes a healthy baby. Remember, your baby is what YOU EAT!" So, as long as you are eating for health, eat up girl! If you turn to slider foods like ice cream and stuff like that, then let the red flags fly. But seriously, a little treat now and then won't kill you or the baby!
Celebrate this gift of life! (Says he with his dog in labor....) You are one lucky lady!
Hi all! This is what I call a REALLY late check in.
Weight back down today. yay!
Ella started showing signs of labor this morning. It is slooooooowwww going with her today. She's still only having contractions every 10-15 minutes, but they are getting stronger. It's going to be a long, long, long, long... night! I do not see much sleep in my future.
Can't even remember if I mentioned the phone line issue.... I found a neighbor, who is a BIG dog lover, and allowed me to hook into her phone line with a two-fer. I have a line running out of her window, across her yard, across her neighbor's driveway and front yard, over the side yard. I to the monitoring, run across the street and send the data and then run back home! Needless to say my ATT contract ends on 7/26 and I've already got Wave set to change me back to their service (which I had for years and years - ever since they came to California) on 7/27. Will get a deal for a year, too, so that will be nice. BTW - if you want an internet, phone service provider with EXCELLENT customer service with real people working in the good old USA to speak to, Wave Broadband is unbeatable. I left only because they got so expensive and they were going through a change and wouldn't cut me deal. ATT stopped by the house and offered me the same service for half the price, plus a $100 VISA gift card. Hard to pass that up! ATT - Worst customer service EVER!
Hopefully, I will have lovely Airedale puppy pictures to share with you all tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
