VSG Maintenance Group
Thursday July 13
I am in the Boston office today, so this is a quick post (it is 5:15 am and I am waiting for SIL who rides with me when I go to Boston). Off for my 3 day weekend after I get home tonight. Weight 117, calories 953.
We have company coming tomorrow so need to straighten up tomorrow morning. I hate cleaning (but DH doesn't "see" clutter).
Makking BB's pork kebobs tonight. Thanks for the idea!

Good Morning ! Such a varied, talented group !! Artists, craftsmen, power lifters, mountain climbers, dog whelpers, yoga/reiki devotees, homesteaders ... and that doesn't even include our original/current careers !!!
Learning to navigate the tappas options for many of our mid-day meals out. Looking for healthy protein to augment the breads, cheeses, and spreads is something I must be vigilant about. I am grateful that I don't drink anything during or immediately after eating. When my meal is not dense protein forward, I can see how "sliding" could easily work its way in. Awareness is everything !!
Diane, thinking of you as you navigate the challenges of this week. May you be strengthened by all of your good memories of moments with your mother. Devon... rest up. Great job looking at stressors... your self-awareness is habituating !! Ron's time will be filled soon ! Paula... eager to hear how DH's path unfolds. Liz.. enjoy your day in Boston. News piece this morning about this year's huge demand for lobster rolls driving prices sky high. BB... you've got this pregnancy thing ! Can't wait to hear about your first "odd cravings". Shel... my knees ache just looking at your photos... anticipating that coming down is much more stressful than going up. Dave, several times this week I've wished you lived closer and were available for some of our projects !!

Wow. Now that's just way too much.
The problem was my dinner and there's no excuse. I went to Zoe's a very reasonable place to eat. But instead of ordering from their many healthy choices, I got a lamb pita. I was with two girlfriends and we sat and lingered for a long time, so instead of my typical halfsies meal, over the course of two hours I was able to eat the WHOLE THING. Also, did you know that just a quarter cup of their hummus has 275 calories?! I hate sneaky foods like that! Add a limeade "because it sounds good" and my dinner was over 1000 calories. It's just a reminder of how quickly food calories can add up and how even during pregnancy I cannot allow myself to eat things just because Common sense does not go out the window. Maybe dinner alone wouldn't have been so bad if my nieces weren't both here visiting and may have wanted a pizookie with their lunch. 1/4 of a pizookie has about the same calories as the 1/4 cup of hummus. How's that for eye-opening?! Guess which one I'll be choosing next time!!
If I had just eliminated the hummus and limeade, my calories would be fine. or the limeade and the pizookie. Today's a new day.
Thank goodness for the clean slate of a new day sometimes!

Greetings Friends
Off to the big city and the adventures ahead. I just want to get through this next week. I probably won't post for awhile but will think of you all though I might have to check for puppy pics. House sitter is here and oriented and we leave for the airport in about 2 hours. Down a pound but won't weigh for a week. I will at least have both my brothers so that's good. At least we have TSA PRE though in our dinky airport security is not too difficult. One gate.
More coffee required to get this show on the road. Have a good week all.

Diane, safe and peaceful travels to you and yours. If you want to say, which Midwestern state will you be visiting?

Ann, think you meant to reply to Diane but I'll go ahead and answer for her since we have chatted about before on the forum. Nebraska......I think her mom's home was in (or close to) Lincoln.
