Greetings Mindful People
My mother died yesterday afternoon. I spoke to her on the phone about two hours before. She went peacefully after a 10 year struggle with Parkinson's disease which left her immobile and barely able to speak or keep her eyes open. So in some ways it is a blessing. She was 92.
We are flying back to the midwest Thursday and making arrangements for the dogs and house and such. Have to get all the gallery shifts covered and such. There will be a lot to do. I am sure I will eat poorly but oh well. I have made this trip so many times that I know all the airport restaurants and bars quite well.
BB congratulations on your pregnancy! What a great thing to look forward to. I agree you should not try to make this all about eating and weight gain but enjoy the experience. Bring on the pickles and ice cream!
Good to hear from you Dave and everyone. I am so grateful to have this little group that I can stay in touch with and take vicarious hikes hug puppies, enjoy family adventures and such. More later. Diane S

I'm sorry for your loss Diane. I know that even though it is probably for the best for them when they are elderly and sick, we still feel that loss of our parents strongly. So wonderful that you talked to her that day. She must have felt that it was ok to go. My MIL waited all day until her final son arrived from Oregon then passed away 1/2 hour later.

Diane, I am sorry for your loss. Yes, in some ways a blessing, especially considering such a tough illness, but still a blow to the heart. Lots of hugs for the whole family.

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad she went peacefully and you are right that it is a blessing. However, it is your mother and it hurts so much to lose your mom. I am tearing up just thinking about it and feel awful for you.
