VSG Maintenance Group

Good morning! Weight 117.5, calories 1000. Gain of 1.25 with low calories: Either a delayed gain from weekend eating or maybe retaining water because of high humidity which arrived last night? I hate when it goes up and I feel like I "behaved". Oh well...
The car saga continues: The towing company took the car to the wrong autobody shop on Friday, so I had to argue with them to get it to the place my insurance company specified (I won). Then that place said that because it was an engine issue it needed to go to a BMW dealership so it was towed there late yesterday (tow #3). The dealership called (good thing they knew the car) because the insurance company hadn't notified them though they made the tow arrangements. Anyway, BMW is supposed to call today with some sort of an update. The auto body shop said it will probably need a new engine and because it is a relatively new car (14 months) the % damage won't exceed 80% so it likely won't be totaled. I have mixed feelings about that, but the guy said the good thing about having it done at BMW is that they will certify their work. But it is only a car...
DH is feeling well, with no apparent side-effects from the trial medication. Which of course makes me wonder if he is in the placebo group. I was somewhat hoping for a headache (most common side-effect @ 7.8%).
Have a great day!

Good morning!
Liz, will they be adjusting the dose? Maybe the headache would come with higher dose. But, an incidence of 7.8% isn't very much. Sometime, when at work, I will look to see what the HA rate typically is in placebo arm. Very hard to not know one way or the other.
Need to get a bit of yoga in before work.
Namasate!

It is a double-blind study with 3 groups in the first part (18 months) and 2 in the second part (another 18 months). In the first part the groups are dose #1 of the drug, a higher dose of the drug, and a placebo group. In the second part, the former placebo group is randomly assigned to one of the other 2 groups receiving the drug.
I know that there is only a small % likelihood that he would get a headache, but I was hoping for a "sign" that he wasn't in the placebo group (LOL - I'm looking for the other even less likely side-effects too).

Hello all!
Weight: 157. No workout
I was going to wait to say anything, but truth is...I'm pregnant!!
But it's very early. If everything goes well, I'll have a March baby.
Already I am panicked over food, weight, eating. I want this not to be the focus of my pregnancy and yet it already is. It's making me hyper-aware of how much I distrust my body. First, I was able to lose weight recently by cutting back calories, working out, and phentermine. I already was having some difficulty weaning off phentermine last month. But now I should not cut calories. It's hard not to just throw my hands up in the air, exasperated, and eat whatever I want. I'll admit--I've felt a bit like doing that. What exactly is my goal? I want to try to listen to my body, and yet my body never gives me the right clues. I feel like I cannot win for losing. Like my only choices are to eat very militantly, watching my calories, eating what is written, not what sounds good. And maybe this is what I should be doing? On the other hand, I'm worried everything will become an excuse. It feels like all of a sudden I've lost grip.
Is it bad that I'm hoping for morning sickness to reign in weight gain? Ugh weight issues cropping up.
I've gained about 3lbs. when no gain is necessary in the first trimester. I do attribute about half of that to holiday-on-top-of-holiday eating, as well as hormone-water-weight.
I will definitely keep checking in. I hope I can have an enjoyable pregnancy without guilting myself too much, but also not gaining too much weight.
Congratulations! Try not to beat yourself up and enjoy it! Just try to eat healthy as much as possible for the little one (and stay away from the simple carbs), and I bet you'll do great!

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Lots of middle ground between militant and cutting calories --- you will find it. Continue tracking intake and weight or maybe just one? Or neither? You will figure it out. Flexibility rules.

YAY!!! Congratulations! I would recommend taking Bradley Method classes.
For my first baby, I went to Lamaze classes. I was 20, scared to death but had the baby naturally. Second baby, took Lamaze classes again because there was a long lapse of time. This baby was troublesome and I ended up with Pitossin and an epidural.
Third baby (gestational carrier for my brother and sister-in-law's twins), I went to Bradley Method classes with my brother and SIL. It was much more educational, and included nutritional information and EXERCISES which I believe truly helped. It felt like training for birth. I recommend it highly! The twins were born naturally with no medical intervention even though we were in a hospital with a ton of doctors waiting to act if needed.
Best of luck and health to you.

I have scheduled the moving van for 07/26th. No offers on the house yet, but a young teacher and her husband, just leaving the military, are interested in rent with option to buy. I'll run it by my lawyer...know she won't be thrilled with the idea. We're almost done with setting up exterminators and getting estimates for some improvements we want to make. The first one will be taking out two windows and a single door to the deck, and putting in a slider with an extra window panel. I'm getting into the groove, and weight is stable despite all of the change related stress.
