Weight 115.25. All vacation weight gone, so I won't feel guilty having part of the insides of a lobster roll at dinner tonight. I think we are going to one of our favorite places on the harbor to have one with SIL and a friend if the weather is okay. We usually sit on the deck overlooking the water, so cold and rainy isn't really conducive to going there. Our friend has been coming down to visit for years and just bought a house here, but has never been to the restaurant because her husband doesn't like fish. However he is away this weekend at a sand sculpting competition.

Last night we went to a band concert on the harbor. They have them every Thursday in the summer. DH loved it so we will try to go as much as we can. There is also one on Friday nights downtown which we may try to get to tonight (again weather permitting). The transient people who arrive on Cape Cod in the summer can make it difficult to get around, but summer is really wonderful here with the beaches, concerts, and waterfront restaurants. We just have to work our timing right to beat the crowds.

Enjoy Friday!

Hello,

Did I ever mention that if I didn't use a bunch of vacation time that I was going to lose it? Anyway, I have a long weekend. I am leaving in a moment to (you guessed it) the mountains, far enough away that I will stay overnight.

Now, to TMI but I know you can handle it or can just skip on. You know how when you get a new toy/gadget you CAN NOT wait to try it? Well.....my pstyle just arrive in the mail! It is to allow me to me on the trail like a man. So, I want to practice here at home and I have nothing, NOTHING to produce. Is this what happens to men in public restrooms? Too much pressure.

And with that, onward!

Hug your skinny. Sometimes it is hard.

Shel

I am speechless! I must now google this device, but what I really want to see is a video of how it is used! OMFG! That is so hysterical. You made my morning! Have a fun trip to the mountains!

Weight 156.6. I think there's definitely some bloating and water weight, but maybe some real holiday weight there as well.

We've had too much fun over the weekend. This is kind of like confession?! I had company over last Friday so their kids could swim and we did grilled filet, a great squash and fontina casserole that is actually pretty low carb (unfortunately gobs of cheese make up for the calories), garlic mashed potatoes, and a salad. Saturday we went out to the country to a friend's Fourth of July party so we could pop off fireworks--and of course there were ribs and smoked chicken and a slew of sides and dips and desserts. Also, does anyone find that those events you pick at more food? I stay perpetually full, but not overfull because I keep noshing! So irritating! Then just generally a lax weekend. Our Fourth of July party on Tuesday included me making way too much food (again) and a brisket, ribs, (three cheers for protein first!!), potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, trifle, etc. And then by Wednesday I did my last lap of the marathon with my sister's birthday--beef tenderloin, sweet potato, roasted asparagus, mushrooms, and chocolate cake. I'm ready for some salad and gym time! Maybe it's not jus****er weight after all!

207. My feet are swollen and hurt this morning when I got up. This was how my feet used to feel all the time, so it's good that it is only a temporary thing. Time to cut back on the sodium big time.

Feeling blah. Many conferences with HR about family leave, but my situation does not seem to fit into any of the categories. I have a lot to read this weekend.

Yesterday I was served with the ex's appeal paperwork. It is ridiculous, but you never know what can happen in Court so it's still scary.

My son blew a fuse again yesterday but was able to flip the switch to get everything up and running. He started to lose it, but was able to control himself, which is huge. Electrical issues, plumbing and kitchen reno are on the top of the list of home improvements if my ship should ever come in. In the meantime, I was able to fix my dishwasher yesterday when I noticed water pooled in the bottom. Fixing was really just getting dirty clearing anything that might be blocking. There was gunk, plastic? and a couple of baby forks (I still use baby utensils at home).

Today's theme: GRATITUDE (I truly have so much for which to be grateful - and with pharmaceutical intervention it is so much easier to recognize and focus on the positive.)

This CANNOT be! I am down 3.6 pounds from yesterday. I got on the scale twice and it registered the same number. This must be a fluke. If it's not, hell's bells! I'm taking it! Seriously, I can't figure out the loss unless it's just a little perfect storm of lower calories, increased exertion during workouts and a good poop yesterday. But heck, this makes it over 15 pounds down since Vyvanse with NO DIETING in the sense that we understand dieting. I'm laughing because this comes on the heels of yesterday's post.

French Bulldog has arrived. She's cute, but clearly still overwhelmed by the pack of Airedales. She is VERY PREGNANT and her nipples are already full of milk. There is no way she's waiting until next Friday. I'm guessing we will pull those puppies out on Wednesday. My dogs are perfectly fine with their visitor. Ace LOVES her and everyone else thinks she a-okay. So all is well in my little dog world.

Today presents a challenge. I have to spend some time with my dear, dear friend who is choosing to not take meds for her mental issues. About a month ago she became verbally abusive towards me and I stepped away. She didn't talk to me for weeks and then about 10 days ago started texting like nothing had happened. I will test the waters and see if she is in the correct frame of mind to address her behavior towards me.

Looking forward to a nice weekend. We have a walk in Golden Gate Park tomorrow and dinner with an old friend tomorrow night. I am feeling on top of things at home again, which brings me peace of mind.

Greetings Grateful Ones

135 today which is good since I have been eating poorly (accidentally typed portly)

Guests still here but leave tomorrow. We have an afternoon outing planned.

Liz, your plans sound like fun. Eat a lobster roll for me.

Shel, we all look forward to your report on p device. Now I know who I don't go hiking.

So Devon how is it that you get to deliver the French Bulldog puppies? Those dogs are so cute I kind of want one. Glad you are down some pounds and that the vy drug is working out.

I made the "Healthy Noodle" last night for guests. They were impressed. Costco is going in to their city and will be open in a few months.

Well off for a trip to our little zoo and its gardens.

Diane S
