Loving my life in wine country !! Can't wait for my house to sell, though !! Having belongings in two places, and trying to keep home I'm selling "staged" is a challenge.

Lots of interior painting and outdoor gardening is keeping me busy. Lots of great places to walk, and hoping to rent a kayak tomorrow. Found a groomer who does cats and dogs. She charmed the grumpies out of my male ragdoll, who had some matting. Did a full summer trim and shampoo with little difficulty. That and Sadie's nails drummeled cost me half what I would pay at home !!

Weight in the lower end of my range. It is difficult to remember to eat, and I'm making staying hydrated a priority.

Liz, not too abnormal for an old dog to retreat to bed or private area. Unless you see other significant behavior changes or indications of pain or discomfort, it could simply be her normal progression to slowing down and getting ready for her normal time to go. Dogs are magnificently intuitive and stoic creatures!

Paula, enjoy the long weekend with Ben!

Diane S., glad your 4th was low key. A friend of mine live streamed his pyrotechnic display, as well. Modern technology is a hoot!

Diane O., your life changes sound so exciting and up lifting. Hooray for you! Couldn't be happier for you!

Shel, it was the 4th of July. You're allowed a day that is "terrible for food." Normal weighted people have them, too, you know! Isn't that what we're striving for in the long run - some sort of normalcy around food and our eating? I doubt that your day was any worse than mine and I feel pretty good about mine. LOL!

Ann, even though I said it already.... FAN-******G-TABULOUS news!

And as for me.....

Weight was up .4. Totally own it. I expected to be up about 2 pounds, frankly. I had sweets yesterday. That was my downfall. I had a scone with coffee in the afternoon and a LARGE dish of ice cream after fireworks. Other than that, though, I was okay. I did have to eat a few sugar free popsicles throughout the day and ate a sugar free Fudgesicle to get through some tougher times during the day. And I will freely admit that because I had my little 4th of July sugar and carb fest I went to bed wanting to eat my weight in cookies or waffles or something GOOD! LOL! Sleep took care of the reset and things are fine today.

Took a new approach to nervous dogs and fireworks. LOUD MUSIC! I put the dogs in their crates in the master bedroom, closed the door and blasted Pandora's Motown channel through my Bose speaker during the neighborhood pyrotechnics. Worked great. Went back in and all but Keira were asleep while being loudly serenaded by the Supremes.

Blue had her follow up ultra sound today and it looks like her little one is flying solo. It was so cool to see the puppy on the ultra sound today. It's gone from a little blop with a heart beat into a full blown puppy in two weeks! It has a skull, and a spine and I could see its little tail. Best of all, he/she was awake and "dancing" up a storm. Ladies, do you feel all that activity from the get go or is it only later on when you feel the movement? I'm fascinated by what it must feel like to have a baby growing inside. Must be a trip! Blue just started her 3rd trimester. Do you think she can feel it yet? Pup will be delivered by c section on July 24th.

Ella is humungous! Took her with us today so the vet could peek into her ears. They are fine, just waxy. I will continue cleaning them out and she should be fine. Off to give her a bath!

Ron picks up the French Bulldog girl tomorrow. That will be a trip and a half! What we won't do for a lot of extra cash!

My babies were all very active. It was great fun, especially towards the end when my belly would contort and roll as they rolled. Sometimes you could see and touch the baby's feet and hands.

Even more fun was carrying twins. They were both over 6 pounders so they were big and very active. After eating, I would lay on my back which was sometimes painful, but so much fun to watch and feel them jockey for position.
