Hubby and I are learning what all old people learn: We are starting to organize our lives around doctor visits. In July we already have 7 doctor appointments scheduled.
I'd so much rather be cruising!
The challenge, I'm learning, is to keep our doctor appointments from disrupting our exercise schedules. Looks like I'm going to have to increase my walking time to compensate for missed pool/yoga classes.
Just realized this is just another First World Problem. I could be living in Mosul. I'll shut up now.
Do the smart thing.

I know what you mean about doctor appointments! Keeping them straight is a challenge. We put them on a white board in the kitchen for the month so DH can see them, but it is helpful for me too. Which reminds me that I have to put July up today.
DH starts the medication for the trial today. We had 3 hours of baseline exams yesterday (I am included because I report on how he is managing). They were really a repeat of the screening exams, but they had to have them the day before starting the medication for comparison. The most likely side-effect is a headache (6% in phase 1), so if he gets a headache it may be a good sign that he is actually on it (33% chance he is on a placebo).
No weight as DD still in scale room. I didn't do so well on my low carb intentions yesterday anyway. We went to dinner at DS restaurant and there was a dinner roll, wine, Irish coffee and some bites of chocolate cake. But worth all the carbs (and I had swordfish as my main meal, split with SIL).
Enjoy the first day of an extra long weekend for some of us!

Liz, I'm hoping for the very best possible outcome for DH. Life is just one big science experiment, eh?

135.5 today. The pound fairy left me a half pound last night.
Yep, Dr. appointments become more and more ubiquitous these days. I don't have loads yet but seems its always time for eye exam, dentist and on and on. I keep all stuff calendared on the computer so it reminds me. Hopeless otherwise.
Did the gym yesterday. Weight circuit. Mid day its not busy and no waiting for machines. Just other old people and young guys who must have night jobs.
Sigh. I look around me and the house is still a complete shambles. Looks like the inside of a storage unit from Storage Wars.
Off for the grocery run today. I wish I had a bigger freezer. Ours is stuffed with sugar free frozen treats that DH likes.
Yes Ann, we should count our blessings that we don't live in Mosul or about 95% of the rest of the world. People said they would leave the country if the election went the wrong way last fall but I only know one person who is moving to Mexico and she was planning that anyway for other reasons.
Cleaning out the bedroom and found an old WalkMan. What an antique!
Well time to take on the grocery challenge. The big discount grocery is 17 miles away so I take a cooler. Gee, I wonder if it will be busy the Saturday before July 4...
Have a restful weekend all. Diane S
Good evening, all! It has been a busy day of trimming. So, what's new, right? My thumb is sore!
Eating was pleasing yesterday in the sense that I didn't overdo, I was pleased with my choices, and I was able to stay in control last evening. Weight was down a few tenths this morning, too. Gotta love it!
My challenge to myself is to make it to the next "decade" by the time school starts up again in late August. I'm taking a low key attitude approach, but I think it's a doable challenge and I'll see where it takes me. Any step in that direction will be a plus in my book!
I am so sore today. It's a good sore, but still that sore one gets from working muscles beyond normal expectations or in new ways (V up side crunches VS. slant board leg lifts, e.g.) My hamstrings and abs are particularly sore. Lots of leg and core work yesterday. Want some inspiration, Shel? Front Dumb bell squats with a single 55lb dumb bell, followed by reverse incline push ups. Next up was Romanian Dead Lifts with two 30lb dumb bells followed by pronated dumb bell back flies. Finished it all up with side V-ups and lateral raises with 10 pound weights. Did 15 of each, then started all over to do 3 complete sets. I may be plump, but damn, I am getting stronger and stronger!
No exercise today, but will probably do some type of cardio tomorrow. We shall see. I have two dogs to trim, so I may skip the exercise.
Doctor appointments: first world problem indeed! So thankful to have problems like those myself!
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy, everyone!
