VSG Maintenance Group
Wednesday June 28
Last post from Aruba! I am in clothes instead of a bathing suit in the morning for the first time in 18 days! The picture is of the cats that live on the property and beg for food. They loved fish (of course) and lamb, but said no to pieces of cheese and crackers (unlike my dogs who would have scarffed everything). They are friendly but won't allow humans to touch them. However, they will lay on the patio or patio wall purring and sleeping. The two of them twine together as if they are one (I'd guess they are siblings due to similar size and look). One of them is on the patio with me now (the tiger who is more brave than the other).
Weight 116! I suspect the balance gets off on that scale because that is what I weighed the day we arrived. We did walk 3+ miles daily (and about 5 yesterday), but I sure ate and drank more than usual (especially last night). The truth tomorrow morning!
I am WFH tomorrow but then off for another 5 days. I think I am telling my boss about retirement tomorrow as they are making more reorg decisions. Yesterday I found out that two of my business analysts are moving to a different group. If they downsize at my level maybe I'll get a severance package!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Liz, I love your sweet Aruba kitties. And congrats on your 116 last-day weigh-in. BTW, I bet your "day of truth" will be a day or two after you get home, after air travel water and constipation goes away. At least, that's how my post-travel / vacation weigh-ins work.
A regular day here -- mowing, pool, gardening, housework, crosswords, fika, ****tails.
Weight is up probably because yesterday I had two helpings of all-bran cereal. I need some serious bathroom action and certainly must drink more water in this summertime heat.
This morning I'm breathing deeply, being present, and paying attention in anticipation of tomorrow's (correct spelling this time) sterotactic biopsy, which will be guided by real-time imaging.
Happy Hump Day to every one.
Still trying to do the smart thing.

fika? I can't remember what that is, should I know?
For me (as I sit glued to the couch with a million things to do) it is Fight Inertia, Kick Azz.
Best wishes for tomorrow, I am glad that you can just go about your usual full day of activities.

Thanks, Shel. Tomorrow will be a full day -- more mowing, yoga class, grocery shopping, a little more mowing, and then off to the hospital for the test.
BTW, "fika" is the Swedish word for "a break from work to share with friends a coffee and a sweet and commune about something other than work."
Our afternoon fika is coffee and a biscotti while we work a crossword or two. It happens every day around 2:45 or 3:00 pm. :)
After fika, it's ****tail Hour. :) It's a hard life here after all our work for the day is done.
Today's "work" was mowing for total of 2 hours and 45 minutes (in 2 shifts), morning aquarobics, grocery shopping and errands.
Sure would love to join you on one of of your gorgeous hikes though. :)
Ann

141.4. Down again which is a huge surprise since I ate out twice yesterday and one meal was super salty!
I had such a great day yesterday! DS#2 and I took a 4 mile walk on a barrier trail that was put in a huge lake here. Nice breezes and even nicer views! We then went out for a sushi lunch. Good to have some 1:1 time with him and just converse!
Work dinner was lots of fun too. Great food (drinks, appetizers and hibachi....oh my!!!!) and great time laughing with my other family (I consider my co-workers my second family since I spend about as much time with them as I do my family and I really do love them!)
Have a wonderful day my skinnies!
