Good Morning everyone.

A few few busy busy weeks of moving family. A mother, a father in law and two children. And unbelievably three piano's. Good grief. The settling in process will take time but the children are excited. Both have moved out of province and have never experienced truly cold winters and they really have no idea what is in store in, let us say, mid-Feb.

no weight lost but none gained either. Skinny jeans are loose.

will have to do a lot of reading to catch up with you all.

happy Tuesday!

Loose skinny jeans: That means the piano moving must have added muscle! Seriously, you must have a very musical family with all those pianos.

Weight 117 (another 1/2 pound down from yesterday). We will see if this is real when I get back on my own scale Thursday morning.

This is our last full day on vacation and we are ready to go back. DS had gone to a restaurant which supposedly had a great reputation before he left and didn't like it at all (left a negative comment card). They gave him a gift certificate for a free dinner for two which we used last night - definitely won't go back. The food was "ok", but they were charging high prices for mediocre food. There are lots of other places in Aruba where you can get good or better food for less and where you can get phenomenal food for the same price.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Yesterday was a full day -- a trip to the local Big City for eye appointments. I now qualify for cataract surgery, so I must make a decision about which kind of surgery I want. The choices range from plain vanilla (fix the cataracts, but I will have to wear the same kinds of glasses as before) all the way up to surgically implanted lenses that (allegedly) correct both my distance and reading vision. That promise is hard to believe; it's research time.

Driving home after having my eyes dilated wasn't especially dangerous, but it was tiring. I slept like a rock last night.

Yesterday's lunch was an excellent cheeseburger (3/4 of it), a few French fries, and a luscious single dip of chocolate chunk cappucino ice cream in a waffle cone. It was a rare but good summertime treat. Don't regret a single bite. ;)

Pre-dilation, I got to spend half an hour at my fave consignment clothing boutique and came away with lined, loose, cuffed linen trousers, a beautiful Italian coat, and a little velvet jacket for (gasp!) $34. They had quite the summer sale on.

Today is yoga, a little housework, and some consulting work.

David, glad to hear about your recent project; it sounds so rewarding. Liz, enjoy your last perfect day in paradise. Paula, very best wishes for an excellent PET scan result and some meaningful feedback (I think of you guys daily). Diane S., sending you good vibes for a happy family visit that doesn't exhaust everyone. Shel, enjoy your incomparable views; will you hike today? Devon, I hope you had a good night's sleep after the long dog show weekend. And Carbon, three pianos is a LOT of pianos! BTW, loose skinny jeans is the best way for those things to fit. :)

This week's theme is Do the smart thing. It doesn't sound very Zen-like, but we have so many balls in the air right now that I need to be alert, prioritize wisely, make good decisions, and get 'er done. While breathing deeply, of course. :)

Hello all!

Carbon, so nice to see you! Congrats on your loose skinny jeans and moving all those pianos.

The other pharmacist has been out for almost 2 weeks because of family emergency. Mercifully, she is back tomorrow. I am already plotting to leave work early on Friday so that I can get my neglected hair taken care of so that I can have more free time on the weekend.

I spend a fair amount of time trolling hiking reports, but no hikes planned til this weekend. DD and a friend might come, we shall see.

But, til then, must get entirely caught up at work to feel good about weekend fun.

Ann, can't wait to hear what you decide about lenses for your cataract surgery. I don't need the surgery, yet, but am looking forward to new lenses that lessen my dependance on glasses/contacts.

Ok, back to focus on work, work, work with the realization that my mind's pivot to food, food, food is just a life long adaptation to anxiety about the undone work. Get the work done and the food obsession lifts.

Hug your skinny! Shel

"...my mind's pivot to food, food, food is just a life long adaptation to anxiety about the undone work."

I so, so understand this adaptation. It is one that is strongly engrained in my stress and habit eating categories! It is a very difficult one for me to overcome.

142 OTD, down just a bit (overall I've been holding pretty steady right around here).

Day "off" today. Filled with laundry and house cleaning. Have a work dinner tonight at our favorite Japanese Steak house - Freebie from a wearable defibrillator vest company. Don't get paid for it but get a good free meal!

Unseasonably cold weather here. Don't like it one bit! I want a tropical vacation!

PET scan tomorrow and meet with local oncologists Thursday. Won't find out about surgery for another week or so - surgeon is on vacation.

DH and I have planned a long weekend get-away the weekend after this one. Looking forward to some quality, kid free time with him when he is feeling pretty decent!

Have a great weekend break with DH, Paula. Sounds divine. I bet you get accustomed soon to a less full house and less laundry. :)

The boys actually do their own laundry (or wear dirty clothes which is more likely). We stopped doing their laundry years ago when we would continually find completely clean, still folded clothes in their hampers.
