AMAW definitely, but I actually could stay on CAMAW for quite a while. Regardless the main point of it (for me anyway) was to reduce my carb cravings.

I feel the same way Devon does about those all-protein diets. That's not what my body wants or needs long-term.

Only saying it's not my thing.

Weight stable. This is good. I had to make a decision night before last about getting serious to get a few more pounds off. I realized that IF I chose to start ASAP, I was going to set myself up for failure because of the long travel weekend ahead of me with Ace. We leave bright and early tomorrow morning for the Great Western Terrier Assoc. shows in So Cal (Irwindale this year of all places - near Pasadena). So, I made a conscious decision to wait until I return to get super serious. My goal the remainder of this week is to simply maintain and eat as healthily as possible.

Okay, some of you know we have pups on the way. Ella, apparently, is having a large litter. The vet counted, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 ,11, oh... she has a lot... I'm never certain after 8, but she's got more than 10!" So we shall see. That was very good news after Blue's ultra sound that showed another singleton pup. It made my disappointment about Blue's litter bearable. I'm choosing to look at it as another meant to be situation. Blue will be able to help nurse the pups in Ella's litter so Ron and I won't have to bottle feed to supplement such a big litter.

It's still hot as blazes here! Perhaps I am beginning to regret my call for summer heat at the beginning of June? Yes, perhaps.... Have to finish trimming Ace today (I do a three day process when I'm showing to keep it from being a straight 5 or 6 hours on the table each time), pack up the van, etc...

Shel, glad you finally saw an Airedale. If it was a single Airedale it was not one of mine. The one I sent up to your area has a great big brother (over 100 lbs) with whom she hikes. If it was Pheobe, my apologies for her unruly behavior! LOL!

Ladies, look, Doggy Dads get puppy ultra sounds to share! The little red dots indicate heart beat and the blue is blood flow. You can see in Ella's that there are pups on either side of the one in the frame. Blue's is flying solo! Ta da!

Will Blue feel that some of Ella's puppies are hers (making it easier for her to mother vs when having a singleton)?

Not sure what the *****'s thought process is, but a girl with a smaller litter is usually always receptive to mothering pups from a different dam. It's a wonderful thing to see.

Older females who are past breeding age also enjoy helping raise pups once they are older. My Keira would take care of the neonates if I and the dam would let her! She starts to get in the act when they are up and walking and are old enough to adapt. Pups under 3 weeks old are not capable of true learning - only reacting. At 3 weeks they start becoming cognitively aware.

Sorry for your daughter and continued issues with jerk ex.

I have seen cauliflower crumbles at Safeway but not frozen. I am going to check costco for the frozen ones. Good idea. Hug those boys . Diane S

Beautiful photos. I scanned and thought "who's pregnant?!" and then came to my senses :)

Weight: 153.8. Calories: near 2000 omg

On the struggle bus. Luckily my weight went down slightly. I can tell more than ever that snacking, snacking is my problem. No way around that. And there simply isn't room for added snack calories if I'm not eating "clean". One or the other!

I think I'm going ot have to halt snacking altogether. Bc I'm not disciplined enough to just eat tuna for a snack.

Isn't it amazing how caloric everything is?

B: breakfast burrito from McD

L: Met my aunt's new man friend. Split bbq lunch w/ sis of turkey breast, chopped brisket, green beans, and baked beans

S: Couple more chocolate marshmallows (good news--there is only ONE left then never again--why I didn't just toss I'll never know), kettle popcorn snack bag, 3 dried figs + 6 brazil nuts

D: 3-4 oz. hamburger patty, hamburger bun with overhanging bread torn off, jalapeno chips handful, fudge striped cookie, 1 glass of wine.

Snacking wasn't too good. But when I write it down, I honestly don't feel like it's THAT much! 1 breakfast burrito? One of the better options, and not a ton of food! SPLIT lunch? Check. 3-4 oz. hamburger? That's itty bitty? gosh, some days it just feels like I'm never going to be able to eat how I need to. Why is it easier for others? another thing I noticed is I have so many more "bad" foods around because DSD moved back in with us!

Wt 217 Up early for dental appointment. Don't remember most of the day because of the mess they gave me. I had a post implanted so the can build a crown to it. I'm on sort of a liquid diet for a week. So no nuts. I will have to read the instructions again tomorrow. Shell, great hike and pics. Kairk, 12 puppies is a bunch of puppies. Congratulations.
