Weight 118.2. I am still doing good during the day but eating what I want at night more or less. I had the insides of a chicken taco last night and a margarita. The chicken was great (brought the insides of the other one home for lunch), but the margarita was not a very good one so totally not worth it!

This is the last full day for the boys as they leave tomorrow (SIL leaves Saturday). We will miss them!

I received a good email from work yesterday: They are giving us July 3 as an additional holiday to July 4. Since I will just be back from vacation I was going to work that day, so I'm thrilled. I have to call into a meeting today and another tomorrow to discuss the fate of the 3 analysts who currently report to me. Sigh...

Have a wonderful Thursday!

The County graded our roads and, as often happens, severed our land phone and Internet connections. Am tapping this on my phone.

Nothing new to report here. Will just enjoy reading others' posts today.

Have a good one!

And BREATHE.

Good Morning,

1st of all, shout out to local strawberries. So very good!

I had a morning meeting yesterday and then headed to a hike. I didn't have food prepared so I picked up smoked turkey box at Starbucks whi*****luded apples and carrots. Not bad stats: 360 cal, 24g protein, 42g carb. The ingredient list is MASSIVE (even in tiny font) and that alone will keep me from regularly picking up. Still, nice in a pinch. Tasty. My dysfunctional brain says carbs count 1/2 when they are consumed on a hike and I refuse to worry about them.

Hike was just shy of 10 miles and was up to mail box peak. Yes, we have been there before but it was sunny out and it is known for great views in the right weather. Plus, it is wild flower season. I took a much harder trail up this time. 4000 ft elevation in 2.5 miles. This trail is infamous for being hard and peeps needing rescue because they get lost. I survived.

Oh, finally saw an Airedale on a hike and it distinguished itself by lunging and barking at me. That's a first on the trail. I blame her parents.

Hug your skinny!

Shel

Good lord, woman! 4000 feet up in 2.5 hours is stupendous! Gorgeous views and flowers.

205.2 Headed down again, but this number is way too high. I am still trying to compete in the blondie challenge. It is keeping me from getting discouraged by the scale and making mistakes.

My daughter was discharged from the hospital yesterday and everyone wanted to get food after picking her up. I made the right decision monetarily and health-wise and went home to my leftovers. I picked up a sub for my son since he had no leftovers. I wouldn't have had leftovers either if I hadn't mixed black beans into mine to keep them safe from the three hungry boys that were at home all day.

Stopping tonight to pick up staples from Costco as I am running very low. I noticed that they had frozen riced cauliflower last time I was there, so I am going to look for that to make "rice" and beans, since I have been enjoying the real thing so much lately in small amounts and mostly beans.

My daughter is having an outpatient surgery tomorrow (another dialysis port). She is scared and wanted me to be there, but I am on double secret probation at work. I talked to my boss and he told me to go and have the supervisors contact him if there are any problems with it. The day off was approved, but I will be docked. I'm OK with that. We used to be able to use our time off before it was earned, but it caused problems when people were fired and hadn't yet earned their bank time.

First support payment yesterday included $50 extra instead of the lump sum owed. Apparently, he is going to pay $50/week towards the arrears instead of as a lump sum. (He is very well off so this is not by necessity.) Pfffft!

Good that you are getting the support payments, but too bad he gets to string it out. I was divorced from 1st husband a thousand years ago and I don't think he ever made more than 5 support payments. Ultimately I met DH a few years later and he adopted eldest DD, so we did ok.

Greetings Strawberry Lovers

136 still. I seem to be gaining 2-3 lbs per year. Not good. Got to put the brakes on this. Made the BLT's again last night. Such a treat. Very few calories or carbs except for the blob of mayo. Still to much in the way of cheese and nuts for the day.

Went to the gym and worked with the personal trainer on free weights. I like the machines better as I don't feel like I will lose balance. The silver sneakers old people exercise class works on that.

We had some astonishingly good strawberries from the farmers market the other day. DH grows some in pots on the deck and backyard but he pretty much eats them off the plant if the birds don't get them.

Geez Shel your hike is like climbing the entire Empire State building by stairs! So good to share your views and that you get to do this.

Liz glad you get that extra day. Sorry you have to work on your trip.

Ann, hope you get your internet back soon.

Well off to the hematologist today. A couple of years ago I had low platelets which was determined to be autoimmune and a short course of prednisone fixed it. I was sure it was from stress of crazy family stuff. It was fine last fall but now is low again so we shall see. I am hoping for another prednisone fix. Otherwise. the usual art stuff is on the agenda.

Later. Diane S

Maybe we should do a CAMAW/AMAW challenge in our group (like the RNY ones)? The rules are simple: set a time period for the challenge (5-7 days). Each person chooses to do either AMAW (all meat ONLY - includes fish and poultry) or CAMAW (meat plus stuff from critters - basically dairy such as eggs, cream and cheese). No limit on calories or number of meals per day. I lost 2 pounds in 5 days the week before vacation doing CAMAW.

Okay, my eating disordered self in recovery is going to throw something out there: the AMAW or CAMAW is a non sustainable, fad diet along the same lines as the cabbage soup diet, or remember that one where you could choose any fruit and eat only that all day long until you blew diarrhea for hours and hours?

Just saying looking at it that way sort of changes the AMAW appeal for me anyway. I get it why it's attractive, but it is super restrictive, non sustainable, and I'm going to guess in the long run just another "diet".
