This morning I had a pre-biopsy consultation with a surgeon. I'll have an x-ray technician/surgical person do the biopsy on June 29 (a more precise way of extracting the tissue in question).
Yesterday morning, my primary care physician said that my second mammogram has a "BI RADS" score of 4A, suggesting a 15% chance of cancer (a website I just reviewed says 13%). Better than 85%, eh? I also learned that BI RADS categorizations have nothing to do with staging cancer and are a radiological shorthand used to communicate the likelihood of there being any cancer present.
Right now, I'm feeling mostly philosophical. I either have cancer or I don't, and further tests will just reveal what's already happening. Of course, I hope I don't have cancer, especially since we're already dealing with hubby's cancer diagnosis. But as a dear friend who's a meticulous writer and hates clichés is wont to say, with irony: At the end of the day it is what it is.
BREATHE.

208. Yesterday was 210!!! It was so hot during the weekend, lots of driving in a car with broken AC and limited AC in the house. We drank so much Gatorade G2 that I may have overcompensated.
My daughter is back in the hospital, horrific story about a malfunctioning dialysis machine that I will not go into because I just ate lunch. I have the boys. Sunday, I made pulled pork which was a hit despite their reluctance to try it. Last night I bought the boys chicken lo mein and chicken fried rice. I took a little of the rice and added a half cup of black beans. It was so good, but high in sodium. For lunches this week, I am mixing tuna with lettuce and a little ginger dressing.
My ex has not yet paid the Court-Ordered support but on Sunday, he texted and emailed that it may be deposited by today. These messages were looking to provoke a conversation with me, but I wanted to talk to a lawyer before responding. Yesterday, I received notification that he is appealing the support Order that was just granted! I ... can't ... even! Last night, I gave in to the stress and ate Combos that I bought for the kids. I have to tell the boys to finish the bag before I get home from work.
Greetings Snacky ones
Seems like the snack monster is making the rounds. I got into the almonds last night. Result? 136, thankyouverymuch snack monster. Must banish that creature.
Ann, hoping for the best on your biopsy. Interesting on the Bi rad scores. Didn't know about that. Meanwhile, breathe is a good personal theme. Don't ya hate waiting for medical info. At least its coming up pretty soon.
Well Devon, don't talk yourself out of the sf popsicles. I bet they have far less of the nasty stuff than a can of diet soda. DH eats them often (but then he has regained) but he also eats cheese crackers. Good Luck on the puppy mission.
Liz, you have the right vacation attitude. No need to spoil your fun with food fretting. Just think Health and Breathe. And go for it on retirement. Take the plunge.
Paula hope you have good doctor appointment and you get whatever that botox-like thing is. I once had a botox injection for hand pain. My doctor had done it to himself. It worked but didn't last long,
Silver Sneakers was good yesterday. Its just the right amount of push for me. Work but not so severe that I want to run away which is how I have reacted to most exercise classes all my life. Ok, I never actually RUN, just leave and hide. Personal trainer tomorrow.
Well I hope Stinky Tink gets better (autocorrect wants to write Stinky Think). Our 16 year old dog moves with difficulty. DH takes her to end of the back yard and she walks back for her exercise. But she always manages to come into the kitchen if she is aware of activity there - she can barely see or hear but nose and food detection system works fine. She gets some meds for pain which cost way more than my meds do.
Oh well, I am typing drivel in order to avoid doing chores. Must get on with it. Diane S
Almonds are dangerous little things...
