Well... summer is officially here !! Sadie hopped in the pool twice yesterday. Still a bit too chilly for me at 71, but she LOVED it !
Shel.. I can't even wrap my head around how stunning your hikes must be ! What a fabulous opportunity to be mindful ! I love the way everyone is pushing their limits and exploring opportunities ! This was my first week retired with NO time at school !!! Love it !!!
We've got this !
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
I should remember, but what kind of a dog is Sadie? We have a beagle and chihuahua. They don't even like getting their feet wet! They love walking on the beach at the pond or ocean here, but keep far away from the water.
Weight 115, calories 1032. I hope the pound that came back overnight was water weight. Seems kind of weird otherwise with calories that low...
Anyway, only one more work day and then off we fly tomorrow! DH is thrilled to be done with doctor exams for a while. Packing to be completed this afternoon - I gave DH a list which he followed so hopefully he will be okay (but I need to check). I still have a LOT of packing for myself to do this afternoon.
Very interesting discussion on breasts yesterday. I've often thought that if I had breast cancer I'd just want them completely removed to eradicate it as much as possible and that I wouldn't care about reconstruction. Though my post-WLS breasts are sadly deflated, I didn't contemplate augmentation because I don't like the idea of something foreign in my body (it is why I ruled out Lapband years ago). With that said, I do wear padded bras now... Definitely food for thought. Especially what doctors say!
Sadie's a yellow lab... can't keep her out of the water ! Lots of reports from Aruba, please ! We're all living vicariously through you !????

I love Labs - there are a lot of them on Cape Cod swimming at the beach.
I will definitely be posting from Aruba. I actually spend a lot of the time on my iPad there early in the morning before DH gets up and at lunchtime when taking a break from the sun. I even found out that there is a scale available in the exercise room (don't know if I'll use it, but I guess I'll have to weigh with clothes on if I do!)

Diane O - Yay for first full week of no time at school! May it continue!
Liz - yay for DH's tests being done and double yay for Aruba!
141 OTD. Eating not as good yesterday but steps almost 15,000. Exercise has been quite good! We went to Melting Pot last night as a family of 5 (a rarity indeed) to send for DS #1 for the summer (he will be working at a scout camp). A salad, a cheese fondue course and a chocolate fondue course. It was an early dinner (4:00!) as DS #3 had to get to football meeting. Unfortunately, the carb laden meal lead to a little snacking in the evening as well.
Camping this weekend with the scouts. There should be lots of hiking on Saturday and increased activity overall. Eating will be fair but not stellar!
Summary of yesterday's eats (at least I'm tracking now!):
Cals: 1,508 | Carbs: 138 | Fat: 78 | Protein: 88 | Sodium: 1,169 | Sugars: 24 |
Weight: 134.4
Macros: Cals - 1,412, Carbs - 151, Fat - 43, Protein - 94, Fiber - 19
Veggies/fruits: 4 (goal is 7)
Sleep: 8.5 hours
Exercise: Yoga class

T.G.I.F. Even for the retirees. :)
Lots to do today and tomorrow to get ready for my biz trip to the Big City. I'll be gone five days and four nights. I haven't left hubby alone since last fall. And because he's not feeling great lately, we're both a bit nervous -- probably me more than him.
Next week will surely offer some magnificent dining opportunities, which doesn't scare me. I'll enjoy in moderation what's offered, enter it all in MFP, and when I get home deal with the consequences, if there are any. Just like a skinny person. Because that's what I am now. #AffirmationAspiration ;)
Fun fact: We have two big black snakes in our front porch planters, shedding their skins, eyeing each other. No visible snake sex yet, but should happen soon. I may have to go ahead and plant the petunias in there tomorrow before I leave on Sunday. But I already know what'll happen -- the snakes will trash them. Poor petunias. Poor snakes. It's tough in the jungle.
KINDNESS ... still happening here. (It's so interesting to meditate on these weekly themes.)

I didn't realize it 'til I read this, but, without studio yoga classes I haven't been getting in positive affirmations. That changes today!
Do you know how hard it is for me to type with my night wraps on? Pretty darned hard but "black snake sex" flushed me out! Yikes! And living (and trashing!) porch planters on very porch where you and DH do crosswords everyday? Ew! And (the Iowa girl comes out,) how MISSOURI!
And, there you are, Marilyn Monroe and all, describing the scene in a cool, dispassionate British accent. (You have a British accent this morning, how bout that.) Perfect juxtaposition.
But, what a great example of why I love this board. Inspiration and entertainment in just a few well written paragraphs. Thanks so much. Have a great trip.
It is tough in the jungle. To all of us....hug your skinny tight.
