Good job Carbon ! Wish you could take me, Liz ! BB... you know what will help you continue to make peace with your body. Great results for DH, Paula !

Sadie tested positive for a UTI. Vet said it was caught early, as she didn't have a fever and white count wasn't off the charts. She's on antibiotics, and should bounce back quickly. She's fairly easy to read when she's sick... just like a kid !

Back into middle of my range.... love the sunny yard work !! Have a realtor looking at my house tomorrow. Living in two homes, three hours apart is getting old fast.

Happy Thursday X 3 !!

Sadie is going to have a fast recovery thanks to her mom's quick thinking!

141.4, got good exercise in yesterday - just over 14,000 steps. Eating was pretty good too but too high on carbs. Hunger has been pretty bad since I've reduced what I am eating. Not sure if I could do the AMAW challenge. It wouldn't work out this week for sure - I am camping with the scouts this weekend. Why can't a ACAW challenge work? The C can be carbs or crap - whatever fits the bill for you! Lol!

Liz, so excited for you and your Aruba trip! A vacation sounds divine!

BB - sorry to hear your implants are not working. I've just noticed this week if I sleep on my stomach, therefore my boobs, I feel a little pain too! So far I am pretty happy with mine though!

I think I never should've gotten them in the first place. I like the thin/athletic look of smaller top size anyway. But I was "talked into" it when I got a TT by my surgeon and my husband. My husband doesn't share my views about small topsize and femininity ;) I had horrendous pain after my first BA such that I needed to continue pain medicine and my surgeon practically accused me of nefarious purposes. That was, until, a whole burst open and remained open and oozing for nearly 4 weeks while on a course of antibiotics that never could cure the infection. So then I had them removed. I wish my story stopped there. But this was shortly before my wedding and my surgeon assured me that my bad experience was due entirely to the infection. So I had new ones put back in. I don't know if the tissue didn't have time to heal properly, or being overweight--even though I never had a large chest per se--caused my tissue to be weaker. But in any event, within 3 months of reimplant, I discovered lateral displacement (aka implants in my armpits when I lie back, basically) and bottoming out on one side. I did consult with several surgeons early on and it was pretty unhelpful. One guy basically told me that this was the best I'd ever have. That to correct it would be costly and painful mesh that was risky with my history of infection. And that to explant would be poor results. I have put it off, not wanting to make another rushed mistake. But honestly I think about it at least 1x/week. I buy clothes and bras to diminish my chest size even though it's "only" a C cup. I just don't find it attractive on me. I feel matronly and dowdy, especially due to the LD/bottoming out which has the added "benefit" of making my torso appear shorter and stockier. I may also want to have children and many surgeons have recommended waiting until then to explant...but that's because they figure I'll want a redo! No! My next surgery is my last surgery ever. I cannot see going through this every decade. Working out has helped in two ways. It has in a very slight way made me not dislike them as much. Perhaps because I'm leaner in general. But mostly it has made me realize how contrary they are to my goals. I really like lifting chest and I like feeling strong and lean.

Now, that being said, I realize I am in the minority. The vast majority of women love implants. And if that makes them feel better, I'm all about it. I just never understood how on earth people could be anything but supportive about me taking mine out to feel better.

Good job on activity and eats! The hunger will diminish and you can settle into the new pattern.

I am convinced that the food manufacturers have cracked the code in knowing how to make us crave their crap. Resistance isn't futile but it sure is hard.

Good morning!

Liz, will DH be on the study drug for sure or is there a possibility that he will be on placebo?

130 this morning! Strength, not freak. Strength, not freak.

Yesterday's hike was glorious. I posted the picture yesterday on the hike. I was practically laying down to keep from falling from a rock into the lake. But, had to post because I could. The hike itself was challenging and I was nervous in the days leading up that it would be too hard. But, I was fine. Glorious all around. A few more pics below....the lake was just one of the highlights.

DH will be on one of the following for 18 months: single dose of drug; double dose of drug; or placebo. In the second 18 months everyone formerly on placebo is randomly assigned to one of the other 2 groups. So he will definitely be starting the drug at some point.

Greetings Great Ones

Well still at 136. Have to read up on the CAMAW challenge or whatever it is. I am pretty low carb as it is but always willing to learn something.

Last night we had these "healthy noodles" from Costco with spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese. It was almost like the real thing. These are the 25 cal per serving noodles made from taro and soy and such and come in a bag with liquid in it that you have to rinse off. I have had other brands of these and they always had a sort of fishy weird taste. But this brand does not have that taste. Works quite well and worth trying.

Shel, beautiful photos. Mother nature is the best artist.

Carbon where do you find the time for so much walking? Good for you!

Well, saw the personal trainer yesterday and she really took it up a notch. Had me really pushing it without being a drill sergeant . Clever woman. She is going to help work out some exercises using a medicine ball because I can grip better with my hands more open rather than curled around a bar. But I feel comfortable at the place and not intimidated. Had to skip the silver sneakers class due to gallery computer disaster but will go next week.

BB and Shel, I find your discussion about the flat vs boobage issue so interesting. I think either shape is normal for women and we should all do what we are comfortable with. I have a longtime friend who is very flat naturally and likes it that way. I am fine with my natural breasts even though they are now saggy. I think if I ever had a mastectomy I would not reconstruct. Part because I am 65 years old and part because I hear its pretty miserable. In our hippie area where anything goes we have a very active Breast Health Center and our gallery helps raise money for them. I suspect they are equally supportive of reconstruction or no reconstruction. So Shel, good for you for accepting yourself as you are and BB if you really want those implants out, go for it. Its your body and your life. The fact that they have shifted seems like it would be really unpleasant. Anyway, I support your decision.

Well my blood platelets have dropped again so another round with the hematologist. I feel fine so I am hoping another short course of cortisone will fix it like last time.

Yay Liz, Aruba awaits. Don't sunburn that pretty face!

Diane O, so glad Sadie is getting an easy fix. Dogs rule.

Various missions today too boring to explain. Peace and serenity to all. Diane S
