Three words repeatedly found in recent posts resonate with me and can be easily combined : gradually, sustainably, onward. These are powerful concepts that are the foundation to our success, from maintaining our weight to establishing new habits. We are a powerful, insightful collective, for sure !
Shel... yes... I learned that for me, an extremely low body fat percentage was not a positive thing. Lower is not always better. Balance is an important component of sustainability. Building muscle and general repair require a level of fat reserve I had significantly depleted. That impeded my ability to build my core and fight back from cellulitis, leaving me hospitalized for a week a year ago. I know that my body does not function as well when I go below 129ish. Yes... as we get more adventurous about what we would like our bodies to be able to do, our "Cinderella numbers" may need to be adjusted accordingly.
Gradually, sustainably onward !

Carbon, I'm sorry you had a tough day. I hope today is better!
Weight 117, calories 947. Yes, I was tired (went to bed @ 8 last night while it was still light out)! Thank goodness the weekend is here. I might do some work, but I might not. I am definitely starting to think like someone who is nearing retirement (or vacation). We leave for 18 days in Aruba one week from today. A photo of the sculpture done by our friend in Aruba on Memorial Day is below. He and his wife have been there for a bit more than a week. We will see them for a few days in Aruba before they leave (and hopefully see a few more sculptures).
Yesterday morning after my big eating day prior I considered not weighing in the morning (delaying by a day). I had already missed 2 days while DD was in the scale room. I realized that that was what I used to do: skip weighing and bargain with myself about eating better. Of course the time would keep dragging out, I'd keep eating too much and keep gaining. SO, I weighed myself. It was higher than a few days before but not totally horrible, and then I felt like I had pressed reset. Interesting...
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Greetings Intrepid ones
137 today. Horrors, up another pound. Really gotta get on this or I am headed for trouble. Yesterday was busy but not all that physically active. In spite of that, my back end feels kind of sore and I am considering getting a pillow to put on my computer chair.
Carbon so sorry yesterday was awful. Today is your turn for a good day.
Diane O, glad you realize extremely low body fat is not always healthy. My doctor told me 30% is pretty normal for my age.
Liz Aruba sounds great. So glad you get to go. Love the sand sculpture. They have contests here in the late summer and they are pretty cool.
Well today I have to cut all the artist checks for the gallery which is now much easier as I do them on line. They go out slower than when I used to print them but much easier on me. After that, I am going to the farmer's market to get some heathers for the other gallery and myself. Maybe then to the gym. Last time I tried to up the weights too much. Couldn't do all the sets. Sometimes less is more.
Got interviewed by the local weekly newspaper yesterday on my artwork and our studio art show "Frogs and Friends". The reporter had arms that were completely covered with dozens of bat tattoos.
Well DH is out walking the dog. Its cloudy which means cold. Stay warm everyone (can't believe I am saying that in June). Diane S
