VSG Maintenance Group
Thursday June 1
Another month gone (only 7 to retirement)! Calories 1232, DD still in scale room. Eating okay except for some small dessert items...
Today is the last of the funeral events (thank goodness), with the burial this morning. We will have one last lunch together, then everyone travels back to their respective worlds.
It has been very tiring and I am VERY far behind on work. I have an all day meeting in the office tomorrow so I think I will be working some over the weekend to catch up. Next week is tough as well with 3 appointments for DH in a row (2 of which were rescheduled from the prior weeks). Hopefully a friend can take him to one of them (root canal), but Wednesday is his first official appointment for the clinical trial and I have to do that one.
Have a great Thursday!

Liz, I hope you can also get a little extra rest this weekend. So much on your plate right now. Hugs to you!

My thigh/groin muscle boo boo is healing and didn't twinge even once yesterday. Just a little dull ache. Am taking Tylenol for it, since I'm still leery of NSAIDs, even though they're indicated for this kind of injury.
Hubby is not feeling well at all lately -- tired, no appetite, dizzy. His docs have already ruled out the scariest possibilities (cancer is still in remission, heart looks fine, not diabetes, not thyroid). Next step is seeing our GP today to explore other issues, including vertigo. I haven't found anything yet that tickles his appetite, but will be making mac and cheese today, which he said sounded good. Bless his heart!
And here we are -- June already! It's freaky how much faster time passes as we age.
GRADUALLY ....

I hope you can get to the bottom of DH not feeling well. My DH kept complaining of the same for a while. We moved some medications to a different time of the day (on advice of doctors) and he is sleeping more hours (about 11-12 most nights). Both seemed to help in a lot of areas (including his complaints about not feeling good).

Thanks for the encouragement, Liz. We're making progress here already. Our PCP (who's fabulous and has very close relationships with hubby's cardio and cancer doctors) said today, with a wry smile, "Now we just have to find out which drugs are poisoning you." Looks like the culprit might be digoxin (prescribed this past March) for a-fib. Turns out a side effect of digoxin is ... wait for it ... anorexia. ;) He's doing more blood tests and some more imaging to check on thyroid issues.
It is such a gift to have good doctors who double-check each other and also talk to each other!
Gradually!

My mother was on digoxin for 10 years for a-fib. Ultimately she became intolerant of it. She also did not feel well and was complaining that everything looked a little yellow (which apparently is a classic sign of digoxin poisoning). As I recall, the digoxin in her blood didn't look too high but she had become more sensitive to it. He put her on another drug and she lived another few years (she was 86 and had a really bad heart).

Thanks for that info, Liz. We're still learning about this drug.

Good morning
indeed Liz, your plate is overflowing. Ann, hope that your husband's problems are diagnosed soon.
Excellent food and cumulative walking totalled 4 hours. This arthritis has slid up/ down the pain scale and 20 minutes of continuous walking is as about as much as can do in one go. Very very frustrating.
The rain returns.
Happy June 1 st.
Diane how goes the gym?
