Weight 116, calories 986.

I am working from home in the morning, then leaving for the wake mid-day.

Right now I am sitting in the sun room listening to the fire alarm chirp for a new battery. Unfortunately it is about 16 feet up on the wall and we don't have a ladder tall enough to reach it! I'm going to have to find someone with a really long ladder - maybe the electrician I have to call about the non-functioning light switch will have one... I hate having to call someone for these simple things.

Have a great day!

Good morning!

Liz, I had to move offices recently because my light bulb went out and no one on site could change it! It provided great amusement for staff and patients alike.

Devon, to get to Goat Lake I first saved a map to google for off line use. There was a traffic jam at the trailhead so I ended up parked along side of the 1 lane gravel/packed earth road and hoped that no one would sideswipe my car into the forest below.

First of all, I saw no goats. Even tho there were a lot of cars, the trail system didn't feel overcrowded. I rather like running into people and pets on occasion. Everyone seems to be at their best and joking about forest traffic jams never got old.

Creeks were rushing with early season run off and I had to practice more balance than I am comfortable with to get across. That's a good thing. Once, a long stretch of flat path dappled with sun called for me to break into a run. 3 seconds later, my toe caught on a rock and I fell face first to the earth which was not as soft as it looked. Later, DD said that when the cross country team runs, people fall down all the time. That's a good DD! Total milage was just shy of 12 miles.

The pic below is my lunchtime view sitting on the shore of the lake. Do you think the goats are proud to have such a pretty place named after them? Or, are they forever stewing that the peak in the background is part of Sheep Mountain? Remember to behave Skinny today. Shel

We need a LOVE button for sure! Such beauty! I love reading your humor filled posts and so wish I lived closer so I could do these hikes with you. Our part of the state is flat, flat, flat! Even the hilly side of the state that I am from doesn't compare to this! I gotta make it out that way some day!

139.8, back into the previous decade (barely).

Have my annual physical with my PCP today. Not happy that my weight is up, but I doubt she will say much as I'm still 15 lbs. below the top of my BMI range (but 15 lbs. more than I want to be!). I don't follow with my bariatric surgeon anymore - he closed his practice and moved and my new insurance wouldn't pay for it anyway. All my labs looked good. I was especially happy about my lipid panel! Trigylcerides were 31 and HDL was 69! Of course I still take a moderate dose of a statin, but those numbers have improved quite a bit!

Normal day off for me so this really is an extended weekend for me. Exercise of some sort is on tap for today, got to get back at it! Might need to be indoors as I think it is supposed to rain.

Hope the wake is a nice time of sharing fond memories of MIL for you Liz. (((Hugs))) to you and the family!

Weight: 136.6 (up 2.2 pounds since yesterday!)

Macros: Cals - 1,640, Carbs - 171, Fat - 54, Protein - 109, Fiber - 20

Veggies/fruits: 5 (goal is 7)

Sleep: 0 hours

Exercise: None (our pool was closed for Memorial Day), but spent two hours doing SERIOUS gardening (mostly lifting downed timber).

* * *

Yes, that's right: ZERO hours of sleep. I blame that mostly on Netflix. But at least I finished the series I've been binge-watching lately -- "Shetland," although I sort of hate to tell you the name of it, since it's so damn addicting!

And the nearly unprecedented one-day weight gain of 2.2 pounds (after not doing anything inappropriate yesterday) is surely thanks to no sleep, drinking lots of water during the night, and weighing at 2:30 a.m. this morning. ;)

My groin/thigh muscle is still acting up, so I skipped yoga class this morning. Will do a shorter unstrenuous yoga session at home later.

VERY GRADUALLY.

Hope you get some sleep tonight my dear. I would suggest a nap but I think it might go against the good sleep hygiene rules! I took a little nap today and plan to sleep like a baby tonight!

Greetings Hikers and Wannabe Hikers

Such a great looking place, Shel. Hope you are not injured from your fall. Yep, trails can be treacherous. Maybe its called Goat lake because only mountain goats can navigate. Soon your avatar will have to be a goat.

Well 135 today after yesterdays food fest. I did pretty well until I asked for a sliver of the fruit tart which was custard filled and was given about a square yard piece. Didn't fini**** but was uncomfortable for awhile. Still a fun event with friends.

Liz don't ya hate those smoke detectors. We set them off at our friends about 6 times yesterday with the grill on the deck. Easy access though. I am often awakened (yes I sleep in) by little Tesla with her squeak toy. We decided she is sending encoded messages to the Mother ship.

Today's mission is to go to the nearby nursery and get some specified heathers and rosemary and other plants and take them to the one art gallery. The guy who is a master gardener is working today and he will plant them if I bring them. I work tomorrow so will water them again.

Ann, what is Shetland about? I am always looking for a series that both DH and I like. Otherwise I am subjected to his sci-fi stuff. But he likes all kinds of shows and even chick flicks so I try to find stuff I can stand.

Paula hope all the musical events went well. Glad your labs were good. Just had mine and platelets are low again. Hey Shel, my total cholesterol is 265 but the HDL and LDL are about equal. At times HDL has exceeded LDL. Is that weird or what? PCP thinks the ratio is what counts. Triglicerides are low.

Well more coffee to drink and then off to the plant store. Get to binge on plants with someone else's money!!! Diane S

Diane, "Shetland" is a cop show -- but much better than that sounds. It's set in the Shetland Islands (part of Scotland and to the north east of the mainland of Scotland in the direction of Norway). The police inspector protagonist is so well drawn, and the supporting characters and actors are wonderful. Because the islands are so sparsely inhabited, there's a familiar "village" feeling we see in many other British productions, but it's set in modern times. I especially loved the very modern views of gender roles and issues.

Here's the Wikipedia write-up about the show. I'm already looking forward to Season 4 in 2018.
