Weight 116.5, calories 1502. MY eating was good all day until we got home after going out to dinner and having wine. Sigh... Today's another day with company for dinner again.
BIL apologized! I think my other BIL made him, but regardless it sounded sincere. It will make the wake/funeral a bit easier. He admitted that just because he didn't communicate via FB, it didn't mean others couldn't. He never even saw what I put there so had no way of knowing whether it was "dignified" or not!
One hydrangea in, two to go. I bought 2 yesterday but after putting one in realized we need one more to be balanced on both sides of the front door. Symmetry and balance are important to me in decorating.
Enjoy your day. We have sun!

Liz, I'm happy to hear your BIL finally found his manners. Maybe he learned something.
Grapefruit hail didn't materialize here -- ours was only quarter-sized. The overnight storms raged for six hours and pruned more dead limbs and leafy branches from our big oaks, so it's pick-up time again. Mature trees are beautiful, but definitely not maintenance-free.
Last night before the weather got bad, we had leftover pizza for dinner. The pizza started out frozen, got defrosted in the microwave, and then heated and crisped up in the oven. It actually wasn't bad. And it beat driving into town for fresh pizza. Admittedly, it's a little weird that two old people who blow bucks on travel can turn downright miserly about saving half of a Little Caesar's pizza.
Gratitude, with some amusement at my expense

Good morning!
Weight is up a couple of pounds.
I have to say that the number of educators on this board have always made me nervous. And now I can add Ann to the list. :) At work, the various forms of nausea make frequent appearances in my chart notes. I am happy to get the vowels into the right place. (By the way, no automatic spell check for chart notes!) When was the last time I typed nauseated before today? YEARS! So many permanent records marred!
Paula, congratulations on DS1's graduation! Whew! Your patio looks like a beautiful place to rest body and mind.
Yesterday's hike was a bit shorter at 5ish miles but it was action packed. Old growth! Roots! Mini waterfalls! Small creeks to ford! Snow! Jagged rocks sticking up like razor blades covered with mud! Just plain old mud! It was the trail version of my scattered brain. I enjoyed it immensely.
DD went with me and I didn't have to twist her arm into doing it. She even hauled herself out of bed. Gratitude abounds. We have had some terrible patches this last year so just a normal day felt great.
Devon, my recent hikes have been 30-40 miles away, all of them to the east. West of Seattle, across the sound, is Olympic National Park. It is beautiful, misty like a watercolor. The logistics of the ferry ride keep me from running there on a whim.
No agenda today. Just home.

I worked with paper charts in the ICU. Near the end of my career I printed everything on sticky note and pasted it and signed my name. I believe there is at least 2 ways to spell every word.
Great that you had a normal day with DD. In a beautiful spot.

Greetings Dear People
Wel 134.5 today pre-poop. We had a bit of steak and asparagus last night. My former self would have had 3 times as much steak with a loaded baked potato as well. Sure makes cooking dinner for two easier. We had a very thin New York cut steak and divided it between us.
Liz so glad for the apology. It will help the stress of the next week.
Well now I will be nervous (but only slightly) in posting here now that I know the spelling and grammar police are on duty. Oh well, I am 65 years old and can do as I please. Except eat chocolate.
DH has two plants to put in. He has managed to make it a two day job and they still are not in. He wants to go buy more dwarf conifers but I won't let him until these two go in.
Shel, that hiking picture is so beautiful. Sounds like a great day for you and DD. Its so great to have natural beauty in your surroundings. I was able to find great beauty in Nebraska when we lived there but it was too hot and I prefer the refreshing north coast.
Dave, wood cutting is a major activity around here too as many people have only wood heat. Good for you for helping your son with it.
Ann glad you escaped the grapefruit storm. Yep, big trees are always losing parts as we learned from the one that split in our front yard a month ago. I hear you about being miserly about food. Many of us got fat because we would eat those extra bites rather than throw out 25 cents worth of food. Our parents all lived through the depression I guess.
Enjoy the sun for those of you who have it. We have another cloudy day but it often burns off in the afternoon.
Icky word of the day "orientated"
Hey, my yellow submarine is apparently in the newspaper. Goodie.
Relax all. Imagine you are in the octopus's garden. Diane S.
Weight down .4 Feeling like I'm really in the new decade and it's not a fluke. Once I'm down a few more pounds, I will feel a little more ease about where I am weight wise.
Food was much more nutritious yesterday. I'm still working on finding a weekend groove to eating since beginning the Vyvanse. I get up a bit later, take my meds and vitamins a bit later, and am just in general on a later schedule. It's after 1 pm. I've had a good sized protein drink (36 grams protein in 1.5 cups almond milk - 225 calories), but that's it. I'm not terribly hungry yet, but I should eat...
I am not an active member of the grammar police outside of the school day. However, I cannot help but notice certain things on a written page.
My writing is far from flawless. My tendency is to write in a stream of consciousness and then go back and revise. Word processing software has made writing a much more pleasant experience for me.
I can remember one July 4 after my freshman year in college sitting at the typewriter all day trying to finish a thesis paper for a summer English course that was crammed into 2 weeks with a 3rd week given over to writing the paper. I ran out of correcting tape. Back then all stores were closed on holidays. I had to retype each page that had a typo. By the end of the night I had a stack of papers with typos that had to be retyped. Horrible! For me, word processing was a gift from God himself!
The conversation here this week has given me incentive to take a look at what I want to do with my summer months. I have let some summers sort of waste away with very little accomplished. I would like this summer to be a productive summer in the self care department. Self care doesn't always mean doing things for me either. Sometimes it means setting goals for tasks and completing them. I have several projects that have been on the back burner for more than a little while. However, I have to set realistic goals. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?
I am looking forward to a completely free day to do as I choose tomorrow. Such a rare gift! I am going to cheri****!
I feel the same about word processing! The backspace key is always in action for me and I usually have to pare down what I write.
Do have a wonderful day today!
