Sunday May 4 th
Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers (or their mothers wherever they may be)! Weight 116, calories 1347.
Had a good Birthday and early Mothers Day lunch with DD yesterday. It turned out to be an okay day with a little sun in the early afternoon when we participated in a walk to benefit the Alzheimer's Family Support Center of Cape Cod (the organization we are working with for support groups, etc.). We met the author of a great book On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer's (I had met his wife previously). They live here on Cape Cod, are about our age and at about the same point with the disease. DH connected well with him and we exchanged phone numbers to get together for dinner.
It is pouring rain here right now, but hopefully it will subside some later. We are going to DS' restaurant for Mothers Day dinner late this afternoon.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Sunday to all and happy Mother's Day to those of us with children, furbabies or partners that sometimes act like kids (hehehe)
All ready for church. We go to a pretty contemporary church back home, my parent's is a little more traditional. Steaks on grill after church and then the 3 hour drive home.
Will not have many steps today!
Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers! (said with just a hint of an impish sarcastic grin and wink...)
up 0.8 today.
MY BUTT IS KILLING ME! LOL! On Friday trainer had me to single leg squats - 3 sets of 15 for each leg. OMG the extra stretch on a single leg squat forces the muscle to work all that much harder. Add having to keep one's balance to that work and it's a strenuous exercise. My glutes are sore, sore, sore! If any of you are interested in shaping up the trunk, you gotta try this one. It will certainly help! Whew!
Have an Irish Terrier coming in a few minutes and then a peaceful rest of the day. Dinner with my dad and brother and SIL and am going to try to fit in a massage this afternoon.
It's also another beautiful sunny, but cool spring day. Won't even hit 70 degrees here today. As long as it's sunny, I'll take it. Oh, my seasonal creek is still running. A rarity in CA this late in May. So glad the drought is over!
Greetings Mothers and Others
Hope all Mothers and those who still have them have something nice planned.
Curses, up to 136 today. Its that dang pizza DH brought home. It was a small one but I had two slices for dinner. That plus spending the day sitting around on my enlarging derriere at the wine tasting. I didn't eat much of the foods but they did have these fabulous little filo cups with creme freshe and smoked salmon. Seems like that plus the pizza carbs just made me hungry hungry hungry all day. But tonight its back to costco shrimp and veggie stir fry. I must emulate Ann and get more veggies in.
I have to take gallery brochures to all the little mom and pop motels and cabins that are near our small town gallery. I had planned to do that a few days ago but it started to rain and got windy and was to miserable. Today would be a good day except its Mothers Day. Maybe I will do a few and see how it goes.
Devon, that exercise sounds like torture. I sometimes do squats when no one is around at the gallery. Don't think I am ready for one legged ones.
So there was a discussion on the main board about chewable vitamins and people think dummies or kids chewables are no good. What do you guys take? I used kids chewables for years until costco didn't carry them anymore and switched to dummies. Dr. C has us take a double dose. Waddaya think?
Well time for more coffee and hopefully a successful bathroom visit. Have a great day all. Diane S
I'm probably not a good one to ask on the vitamins because I'm sort of OCD about it. I take daily:
1 Centrum Multivitamin, 1260 mg Calcium Citrate (plus what's in the multi) in two doses during the day, 5000 IU D3, 4 mg Copper (I tend to run low), & 400 IU Vitamin E.
M, W, F I also take 100 mg B1. Wednesdays and Saturdays I take 2500 mcg sublingual B12. Add a stool softener to the daily regime, plus the PPI and my happy pills (and currently a daily Claritin!) and there you have it!
YIKES I take a lot of pills!
I have looked at some of the kiddie vitamins and they don't have enough of what my program recommends. I have no problem taking pills anyhow, so it's just as easy and cheaper to do the pills. I did use chewable calcium for a year or two, though. I was afraid to swallow those horse pills, but this far out, it's no big deal.
Yikes I take a lot of pills two. Three scrips (for sleep and happy brain) and the double dose gummies plus double dose calcium. So thats four gummies per day plus 8 calcium pills. Morning and evening. Some days I just can't stand the calcium but I am on the edge of osteoporosis so I gotta do it.
At least today I moved around a lot running flyers for our art gallery to all the little b and b places. Hubby has the Tesla out for a joy ride.
Devon you would be envious - my friend is moving to Mexico and is giving away a whole bunch of crates and ex pens and such. I have plenty so they are going to my breeder. I get the grooming table. Just what I need - more stuff. She will be taking her three dogs including one of my Border terrier pups. ):
I am going to email Dr. C about gummy vitamins. I seem to recall he was fine with them. I used kids chewables for years with good test results. Diane D
