Weight 116, calories 971.

DH has the first half of the driving evaluation this morning. If he passes, they schedule him for an on the road test. Hopefully he won't pass today given what I've observed with his driving.

Work is not fun. They inserted a business-side project manager on the major project I have been involved with for the last 18 months (I'm on the business side). I've worked with her before and team members generally don't like her methods, as she doesn't listen, does things her way, kicks off unnecessary tasks, and doesn't include tasks that should be there. Her presentations are too detailed and convoluted. Can you tell I'm not thrilled???

In addition, I've been helping out a manager in my former department in interceding with IT. He developed an application in a manner which can't be easily supported on a go-forward basis and wants IT to break some security rules so it will work (which they won't do of course). I have been working with IT to find alternative acceptable resolutions (most of which require him to redo or discard work already done). If he had discussed his plan before he built the application we could have avoided this. He spewed venom in multiple emails yesterday over his disgust that it can't be done his way. And he is at an executive level! Not the best way to secure cooperation...

Have a good Thursday! As usual, I'm glad the end of the week is coming!

Oh my Liz, I am truly sorry that with everything else your work place is so toxic.

And happy belated Birthday Paula.

walked for a total of 3 hours and other then two totally greedily consumed peanut butter balls at 10 pm, food was great.

Happy Thursday everyone.

Good morning!

Liz, sorry that work hasn't been fun. You need some fun!

124 otd. I didn't see any rattlesnakes on the hike yesterday. Rattlesnake lake was pretty. The hike was an excellent first of the year hike. 2 miles up, enough to keep me breathing hard but not enough to slow my legs. Lots of roots and rocks to step around to improve my balance.

It just occurred to me that one cannot practice balance unless there are roots and rocks to step around.

Hug your health today,

Shel

138 OTD. Wedding weight, which I guess isn't the worst thing in the world but still much higher than I would like to be right now. Hoping the increase is due to salty out to eat food last night. Overall, I didn't do too bad eating wise for it being my birthday. Had crab legs, one cheddar bay biscuit, a few bites of veggies, about 1/2 of my salad and about 1/2 of a piece of key lime pie. Rest of the day was good too - 3 protein bars (breakfast and 2 snacks) and yogurt with blueberries (lunch).

I am going away for the weekend - yay! Spending time with my 2 BFFs from High School/College on Friday night and the rest of the weekend with my Mom, Dad, Brother, SIL, niece and her husband. It will be a nice reprieve to get away from DS#1 for a few days. I feel a little guilty about leaving DH since he will be in full blown yuck after getting chemo Wed-Fri but he assures me he can lay on the couch by himself just fine! I really did marry a gem of a man!

Shel, how I would have loved to have gone on that hike with you!

Liz, hoping the driver's test goes as you would like and there would be no question about whether DH should or should not be driving and that the orders to not drive don't have to come from you - that has to be tough!

I'm sitting with DH doing the test. So sad - I don't think they will allow driving. His skills have deteriorated more than I realized.

Very sad, but as you know, for the best. Remember to call your insurance company to tell them he is no longer driving, and maybe you can get money off of your insurance.
