VSG Maintenance Group
Monday May 8
It sounds like a great beginning to the week for you!
Weight 115.5, calories 953.
We went to the Stony Brook Grist Mill in Brewster yesterday to see the herring run. Naive me - I didn't realize that the sea gulls were going to be hanging around like vultures grabbing them for food! It was still interesting and a pretty place, but the poor fish!
Have a great beginning to your week!

Weight is at the top of my range too, Shel. It is not as much ostrich behavior for me, as it is endless rain. The sun hasn't appeared in days, so no yard work or walking. It is 36 degrees with a spit of flurries this AM.
I'm looking into Disaster Response Therapy Dog certification next. I've taken my first of four online FEMA certification courses, and am introducing Sadie to more sirens, walkie talkie static, and large moving vehicles, as well as other working dogs. She has to be able to operate in close quarters with other dog teams, without thinking it is play time. We could be called to the site of a natural disaster, or God forbid, a school shooting, to provide emotional support to first responders and victims. Pre VSG, there is NO WAY I would have had the stamina and sheer physical capacity to consider such an opportunity ! So blessed !

Work today, concert tonight. Will have to miss scouts.
Life feels weird these days. It feels like I am going through the motions but not really living it. I want to live it again. I guess I'm just in survival mode right now. Hoping for brighter days ahead!

It IS a surreal time, for sure! You will get back to normal -- sweet, sweet, normal

Last night brought another 8 hours of sleep. Yea! Thanks to healthy eating, my weight is stabilizing. I'll stay at this lower-calorie range for another week to make sure it is really stabilized.
By the way, I'm eating many of the same things everyday. Chocolate remains banished. No formal exercise yesterday, but I continued with spring housecleaning projects. It feels good to see the house start to sparkle again. But there's a lot more to do.
My post-retirement consulting gig is starting to happen. Over the weekend I received lots of documents to review and have a big conference call Wednesday to define project scope. Amidst all this, my week's theme is BALANCE -- among self care, house and property cleanup, and the consulting. I sure don't want consulting to screw up anything else that's working.
It's a new week. Let's make it a good one. :)

Good morning,
Still the top of my range but down from the start of the weekend which an unusual for me. Yesterday was also a 3 Ostrich day which I am happy enough with.
Carbon, we also had sun and just enough warmth that the new air conditioner kicked in. So then we had to wear blankets.
I'm peeved with DH and working to get over it. To make it worse, today is his birthday, which makes my peevishness all the more petty. Chewing on negativity does not serve me so it is time to let it go.
Decent activity for the weekend which felt good. DianeO, hope you get flex your muscles soon.
Stay mindful out there,
Shel
