VSG Maintenance Group
Wednesday May 3
It is 5:15 am here in Chicago. Today our schedule is 7am at the meeting place for breakfast, then meetings from 8am-7:30pm (lunch and dinner while meeting). I should be completely non-productive for the last couple of hours, as 7:30 here is the equivalent of 8:30 at home when I usually go to bed!
No weight, calories 1407. Generally the food choices at these things include healthy options so hopefully my eating will be good...
Curious on the Vyvanse: is it contradicted for someone on BP medication? I don't think I need it at this point, but what if I did?
Have a good day everyone - hopefully your stresses will be manageable!

137 OTD. Down over 2 lbs. not sure why but down is always a good thing! Have not exercised in forever but my step count hasn't been too bad. Super busy day yesterday.
Have to work early today - be there by 6:30, was up at 4:30 to make that happen. Not much time to chat before I head out!
Happy Huuuuuummp Day!

Only 4 hours sleep last night. All my sleep tricks didn't work so well, but I did get up this morning at my regular time. I also did do some night eating, but hydrated well before eating and then went high protein with turkey/cheese roll-ups.
Yesterday morning we mowed pedal to the metal to get ahead of more rain coming in the next 36 hours. Looking forward to the weekend when it will again be sunny and beautiful.
Heading back to aquarobics this morning. Yea!

Hi guys,
Weight 127, I'm annoyed with my LE arm. It is puffy despite wrapping it at night. What more is it asking for? Frequently, I can find a small wound that is the likely trigger but skin looks fine right now. Rude!
I am home today and looking for non-food fulfillment . It is rainy this morning so I'll get the dogs and household cleaned up. Then noon yoga. Then hopefully to a beach or park this afternoon if it clears like it is supposed to.
Liz, they just want bp controlled before starting Vyvanse. No worries if you are already on blood pressure meds -- they just want it controlled. Once starting Vyvanse, they will monitor bp but they do that for everyone on a stimulant.
Paula, if there is ever a sound bath offered where you live you should go. The yoga studios around here have fairly regular workshops. Super relaxing. They "play" sound bowls that have various pitches/vibrations. I knew that I would enjoy the sound but really didn't anticipated the effect of the vibrations. They really do hit different chakras. Before I attended a sound bath, I didn't really understand the location of the various chakras and it floored me that even I could feel the difference in vibration location on my body, depending on bowl was being played. I still can't keep the different chakras straight in my head, tho!
Seek nature, find your skinny,
Shel

Sound baths ... Shel, you really do share the best info! Thanks for this, too.

134.5 today so good to be down a half. Spent a lot of time on phone with tech support for our on line banking as we had to change passwords and such. While on the phone the dogs decided it would be a good time to roughhouse and bark and squeak loud toys so I couldn't hear on the phone! What a racket!
Hey Ann that night eating article was pretty sensible. I have noticed that if I skip breakfast I tend to eat more later. There needs to be stuff in your system from earlier in the day to avoid late hunger. Of course, we know much of that hunger is head hunger but at 2 am and no sleep, it can be real. Well, lets all set our considerable collective abilities toward solving the night eating mystery. Maybe an auto refrigerator lock that kicks in at 10 pm. (this would lead to 9:45 raids I know).
Shel good idea on the sound bath. I have heard those bowls at tai chi and they are indeed relaxing and peaceful. What Paula needs is a cocoon. But probably not an option.
Overcast today but should be dry. Dogs and DH get walked.
Well today should be a usual day. Stop in at the gallery with finance info then on to the studio to see whats up and try to make a few things. I am kind of in an art rut and need some new inspiration. I made a Rocky Raccoon for the Beatles themed show yesterday. Still needs the gun and bible attached.
Onward stalwart maintainers. Diane S
Good idea on the refrigerator time lock. Interesting that during the recent cruise I never, ever had food cravings in the middle of the night. Could have been because we didn't have a stocked food refrigerator around. Or that I was eating three serious squares a day.
Just had the thought that it'd be fun to drop into your gallery and see what all your art creations look like in the flesh.

Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff, Diane. I don't know how you make those things. I have zero gifts in that department. As I said in my note, your work helps me understand your daily stories better. You really have a precious gift.

Overslept this morning and then have been on the go most of the day - professional training at the DO, then back to school for a staff meeting, stop at Trader Joe's on the way home, and home to a powerless house and a crew of electricians. Yes, I got to fork over $2,500 for a new electrical box today. Just what I needed after all the puppy expenses, but it's better than the house burning down, right? And, yes, we were on our way to a huge melt down. The neutral had fried so the electricity was not being regulated. It got scary the past couple of days! So, money well spent in the long run.... But at the same time - BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
No weight this morning. Just forgot since I was so rushed. Eating was very good today. A small lunch seems to be back in the routine. Cravings seem to be mostly at bay, but not 100%. I'm wondering if the craving level will change as I adjust to the meds over the next 3 weeks. Will be interesting to follow.
Off to read the night time eating article. I LOVE Authority Nutrition. I have been a subscriber for several years. I like Kris's approach. He brings a lot of relatable topics to at least this reader, as he is a recovering addict (of the drug and alcohol kind) and also a food addict in recovery.
