Weight 115, calories 604. Went to my in-person support group meeting which is at my usual dinner time. So by the time I was home I didn't have time to eat much and then my intestines rebelled (probably why my weight dropped another pound). WFH today, so back to normal eating/calories.

Went for a nice walk with DH in "Woods Hole", a very quaint village of Falmouth. Lots of old New England sea coast homes with water views. It turned out to be a gorgeous day (a couple of pictures below).

DS has returned home to live for a bit while he looks for a house to rent. He has a new position as Executive Chef at a restaurant near us. Nice place, but the location has had some a bunch of different restaurants which haven't worked out. This one has done better than most and DS wants to make some changes, so I hope he does well.

Enjoy your Monday!

136.6. I had to look back to my last weight (on Thursday) to see how I fared over the indulgent weekend and surprisingly am up only .2. Perhaps that is not real and the scale with read differently tomorrow but I was expecting at least a 2 lb. gain if not more, so I'll take it for now!

PS revision surgery this afternoon so I only work a half day. Hoping recovery will be a breeze because I don't plan to take any time off.

Beautiful pictures Liz! What a pretty area you live it! I also happened upon your 6 week? post PS pics on the PS board last night and you look wonderful. The neck surgery made a huge difference and I'm jealous of your flat belly!

Liz-very nice

Paula-hope PS is a breeze

Weight: 154.2 (but this was pre-potty, as most weekdays are), Calories: 1530, Exercise 1 hr. cardio/400 calories

I think the exercise made me frantically hungry yesterday. But I tried to go with it since I did exercise. Also our eating was kind of off since we had a brunch yesterday. I went to the breakfast place with every intention of eating off plan. And although it was still not super diety, I think I did pretty well. I got egg beaters instead of eggs, turkey sausage as my meat, I did go ahead and get home fries, and shortstack of chocolate chip pancakes with SF syrup. Lots of improved choices there...and obviously it was a lot of food so I only at 1 pancake, half the fries, all the sausage, and a smidge more than half the eggs. And REALLY enjoyed it! Go figure!

My poor Thunder isn't looking very promising...terrible game yesterday. taking years off my life.

Greetings Monday Maintainers

Geez what is with this rain? We were supposed to get a reprieve. At least we got some deck planters planted yesterday.

134 or 134.5. My scale is psycho and couldn't decide. So I am saying 134 because its pre poop.

Great pix Liz. Looks like a lovely place to walk and enjoy the outdoors.

Paula gl on the plastics and everything else.

Ok I know you new people are out there. Please introduce yourselves and say whats on your mind.

I made cube steak last night which I haven't done in years. It was pretty good and easy. Will add it to my list of bariatric meals which is getting pretty boring. Tonight will be spinach ricotta bake.

Kilns open today and I should have quite a few new things.

Well hang in there everyone and stay away from the vats of chocolate. Diane S

209. My son and I are making an effort to eat cleaner, and he has been cooking more. He even cleaned up after himself yesterday! I made sugar free/fat free pudding with skim milk for dessert. We both really enjoyed it.

If it weren't for you guys, I think I might have thrown in the towel by now. My numbers don't currently reflect that I have not thrown in the towel, but I am trying to lose the gain and continue to goal. So many people around me talk about the inevitability of regain that it gets into my head which triggers me. You guys light up that darkness. Seriously. If you can do it, then I should be able to do it too. It is not inevitable that I shove too much food into my face. It is a choice that I have to refuse.

Being unprepared is a major problem and I almost went to work unprepared today. Instead, I grabbed a little container of chicken salad (which I do not like) and a container of baby spinach. The chicken salad has too much mayonnaise, but when I mixed it with the spinach was OK. It is definitely not an everyday thing but was much better than not having a plan.

Onward.

Hey Joey, its good that your son is cooking and going along with the clean eating.

And it makes me so proud that you are finding this group to be helpful. You are an important part of it. We learn from you too. The more that one of us does in this endeavor the more we all can do.

Yeah, being prepared is both important and difficult and thats true for those without wls. It takes planning and sometimes we just run out of time and you have more than your share of responsibilities. Spinach is great to have around and goes with everything.

Onward indeed. Diane S

Down .5

Ron backed out of his training appointment tonight, so I'm taking it and will work with the trainer twice this week. Will be good for me because it will force me to go today and I have not been going on Mondays for several months. I want to get back into my normal 4-5 day routine, rather than my 2-3 day schedule I've been following for some time now.

Planning for success in eating takes WORK. Sometimes the work is easy and other times it is drudgery. Having the right foods on hand at all times and keeping healthy, weight-loss supportive foods on hand is not always a simple task. It takes commitment and perseverance to maintain food planning and preparation. I go through periods when doing this work is an utterly dismal task. Most of the time it becomes rote and not a big deal because I can eat virtually the same thing day in and day out without much is. It's when the addictive cycle kicks in or the BED gets intense that I have trouble in these areas.

Small victory today: a student brought in cupcakes. There were a dozen plus left over. They sat on my table ALL MORNING! I got them to the teacher lunch room and left them there and didn't touch a one. Thank goodness store bought cupcakes don't hold a strong appeal for me.

Puppy made a 10% weight gain last week. AWESOME for her. Funny how gaining weight can change from negative to positive depending on the situation. I think I must switch my thinking to just understanding that when I gain weight it's simply my body trying to recapture it's youth - you know, when growing was the thing to do!

Merry Monday, Maintainers!

Liz, What a beautiful place for a walk.

JoeyJo, Being prepared is hard. Traveled today and tomorrow. Prep time is a must or I fail. Took my mom to Dr for procedure. Long wait. Had lunch waiting. Tomorrow night I take her for a sleep study. Have to get more than lunch ready.

Kudos to all that are getting in the work outs.

Wt 217 coming back down maybe.

Steps: We got into our bees and split them before they swarmed. Set out 2 swarm traps a month ago and caught one today. I may get it down after dark and put it in a box in the morning. We will see if I can stay awake. Still trying to get the shop ready. It is coming along.

More later, David
