Back down 2 pounds (I had hoped it was poop and water - yesterday was productive for both)! I guess eating too much crappy salty stuff does it! Weight 116, calories 854.

Speaking of poop, having two elderly dogs is causing added irritation at times. This morning was the first in days when I didn't have to clean a urine puddle (all puddles were on the many pads we put out at night). But then the beagle gulps her entire bowl of water and vomits it. Sigh...

DH and I had a good time at the Kennedy museum in Hyannis yesterday. It looks like it has cleared so something outside will be the order of the day (after Zumba).

Enjoy your Sunday!

HI everyone.

an awful food day. A friend took me out for a burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. ( she wanted to thank me for an alleged kindness and restaurant was her choice, A big financial strain for her and I was appreciative of her gift)

First one in about 7 years, however every mouthful was tempered with the reality of calorie content.

Then later fell into a vat of chocolate

the only redeeming thing is that walked for two hours. But the truth of the matter is that for the calories eaten I should have walked at least to the next province.

let this be a cautionary tale. Don't be like me.

Already was there! I spent the last few days trying to make up for it.

Awful food day for me yesterday too. I won't go into the gory details but suffice it to say calories had to be way high, sweets and carbs high, grazing high. Did get a good walk in with some killer hills and stairs.

Will need to leave my scrapbooking weekend a little early as I have 2 scouts that have their Eagle ceremony today and I 've been a asked to read a poem. Really goods kids and I wouldn't want to miss it anyway!

You needed a break (from everything!). I just read your DH posting on CaringBridge. A friend of mine had esophageal cancer and went through all this (then surgery). Also my eldest daughter had the chemo build-up too - all seemed easy in the beginning, but by the last few rounds it was rough. I'm glad your DH is feeling better after the last one!

I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend!

I also read Ben's Caring Bridge post....I'm glad this part of treatment is winding down. I did feel a bit for you, tho, when he noted that peeps can help by bringing over their signature desserts. Don't get me wrong.....absolutely appropriate request on his part!!!! But, difficult for you!

Maybe when people bring over a dessert they can sit down and have a piece (or three) of other donated desserts. Maybe some of them would be suitable for freezing so that he can enjoy them longer?

Hang in there, my friend!

I am in-sync with the rest of the early posters today --- up a couple of pounds over night and quite deserved. Ate at a restaurant last night and then kept nibbling the rest of the night

Spending the weekend on the computer sets me up for old food grooves. I was doing ok food-wise til a dash of joy was added to the mix and I fell head-first into food-as-fun.

The joy.....one of my old Peace Corps Buddies called out of the blue in the way only old friends do. He and DW had a long layover at the airport and decided to rent a car and wondered if we were available. We met up at a Gambian restaurant (we were posted in the African country of the Gambia) and had a great time.

But, here is the really cool thing, he is being inducted into some sort of National Teacher Hall of Fame next week! His first degree was in engineering but was a teacher in the The Gambia (like me) and it was there that he discovered his true calling.

He from a red state (Alaska) but is personally progressive. (We are Peace Corps, we can't help it.) He met Obama a couple of times when he won other awards. It will be pretty interesting to see who he meets this time. He recently landed an education job in state government and very practiced at getting to work on common ground. (That is also very Peace Corps) He seemed a bit worried at what his wife might say, tho.

My daughter was fascinated to learn that the school he taught in was 99.9% for Trump. She couldn't even imagine such a thing since we live in a very blue area. If we are going to move forward we need to imagine!

Strength and Stamina (still channeling DianeO)

Weight: 153.8, Calories: in the neighborhood of 1500, not great but ok for maint, Workout: a little over an hour of chest and back, 18 min. of cardio and that was more than enough.

Having a very blah weekend. Why this moodiness?! Seriously I need to get into mindshape!

Just skimmed this AM but did have to laugh and comment to Shel that yes those types of places exist! Well maybe not 99% trump. But all 77 counties have gone R in the last 3 elections.

I'm apparently in good company ... yesterday's food around here included a funeral brownie that fell into my mouth, and for dinner my husband chose take-out pizza, which would not have been my choice. Sometimes I let him have his way.

And for the rest of y'all who also ate "differently" yesterday, I hope you enjoyed every bit of it. The "one day" never hurt us. It's the "next day" that matters. :)

This morning I'm cleaning house and doing laundry and marveling at how long after a trip it takes to get back to normalcy.

I so loved my little at-home yoga session yesterday. My glutes are even a little sore. Think I'll do it again today.

Nothing exciting to report here, except it's not raining and the sun is shining gorgeously!

Yes that is what I'm learning: ok to eat off plan periodically, but get back on the next day or so to correct.
