Greetings My Favorite Maintainers

Wow lots of plastic surgery talk! I chose not to do any because I didn't want to put up with recovery time. Except still thinking of the face lift. I had an elderly aunt that did one but she still wore old lady hair, clothes and glasses so it kind of negated the effect. But go for it if you want it. Paula its as good a time as any. Glad the shows were good.

134 today! Made shrimp in coconut milk last night. Unsweetened. Quite good. All the costco shrimp is used up so gotta come up with something to cook tonight.

Yep the goats were a suggestion to Ann so she didn't have to mow so much yard. But they eat EVERYTHING. Still people use them around here to remove unwanted vegetation.

Hey Shel, where were you in the Peace Corps? Wish you had a pic of the tree goats. There are goats near our home and they always stand on top of this hill in their pasture.

Well we are in for 5 days or so of sun so my condolences to those of you caught in gloom.

I've been eating tuna packets for lunch instead of cheese sticks. Probably saves a couple of hundred calories. Something I should continue.

Well lots of art underway that will need attention today due to drying effects of the sun. Gotta get after it before they get too dry. Gallery duty tomorrow so I will probably walk in circles though if the sun is out, the tourists are out walking so maybe will get some business.

Peace and skinny to all. Diane S

Enjoy the sun! We are in the gloom!

As you know I did a TT and facelift. I LOVE the results of both. I never previously had a flat tummy (first child at 17 and weight gain from then on).

I'm even happier with the facelift, but I'll warn you that at least for me, during the first 2-3 days I wondered why I did it. The TT was less painful than expected, but the face more so. I had an excruciating headache with it as well (might have partially been coffee withdrawal because once I could drink it again I felt better). Also, I wasn't willing to see anyone with facelift for almost 2 months - the bruises last that long, even though PS said I bruised less than most - I had to use dermablend to cover them. But in the end, I really am thrilled with how it turned out.

Quick update:

Weight same. Great food day. Really focused on my "detox". Little bummed I didn't drop a bit...

Psychiatric meeting was fine. I had to fill out two surveys after talking with him for a while. He says he has everyone do them, but I wonder... Anyway, I scored a little high on both, so he'll monitor my med level and possibly adjust as we go forward. AS for the BED treatment. He suggested starting with a therapy group called Nouri****old him how I felt about yet another group and explained I'd already done a similar group 3 times, been in therapy, blah, blah, blah and so he ruled that out pretty quickly. He's going to do some in depth reading on Vyvanse and get back to me in a couple of days. He seemed inclined to give it a try, but wants to do more research on it so he feels comfortable prescribing it for me. I like that A LOT!

Gotta run....

We do little surveys to drive depression/anxiety med dosing decisions. A single snapshot is helpful but he will likely have you repeat them regularly because then he can spot trends. Evidence based --- all good stuff. Yuck to the group therapy (been there, done that)

206. Well, yesterday I broke down. It was a long time coming and was my own fault for thinking instead of doing. A good cry did not make me feel better, it made me feel much worse, but then again it was not a "good cry" it was an ugly, irrational, panicky cry. It upset my son so much that he went out and mowed the lawn! Front, back and side yards. Note to self...

The day started out bad with my son's appointment with his NUT hoping to find out why he was declined for surgery by the psychologist on their staff. No answers and bad feelings. Then we went to get lunch and stocked up on some of our staples.

When I got home and put the groceries away, I started cleaning and doing laundry. The house was a mess and I got overwhelmed, choked up and then the dam broke, as well as a few coffee mugs. Still not turning to food, which is good, but smashing mugs is not good either. I threw away bags and bags of stuff we don't need or want that has been sitting around my house that was not worth donating. I was sick of it and decided I needed some order in my life.

After my outburst and after my son finished the lawn, we talked about it and decided to do whatever we can to maintain order in our lives. We cannot control much, but what we can control, we should. Then I had to go to court to resolve the ticket I got for driving while suspended when my license was not really suspended. Even though I had the paperwork from the DMV, it is scary to go to court. I was one of two people that the Judge dismissed everything and didn't have to pay a dime, which was nice, BUT such a stupid waste of time.

Hating sitting in the courtroom mindless with all the other riff raff, I went looking for a recreation department booklet and read through it. I found cheap or free yoga, tai chi and other stuff I am interested in.

Everything happens for a reason, kids.

Yes, it does -- happen for a reason.

And you are feeling your feelings. And not sedating your feelings.

Hubbah!

With all you have been dealing with, sooner or later you needed to have some sort of breakdown. You may not have felt better afterwards, but it probably did relieve some tension since you continue on. Yoga and Tai Chi sound like an excellent idea if you can build them in.
