Weight 116.25, calories 897.

I am only working until 11 am at home, which is good because I am VERY tired. It is the longer work days, but also DH disturbs my sleep a bit (poking me periodically, I think to make sure I'm there or getting up for the bathroom frequently). The latter is because he didn't take his nighttime pills. I have to set a reminder to myself to remind him to take them at night.

BIL is taking over the finances, but is trying to get it done via DH delegation (which is allowed in POA). However he wants his signature put on her bank accounts and the lawyers don't think the banks will go for that via delegation. I think that means he'd have to have MIL declared incompetent to get a new POA. Seems like it isn't worth it, as she is 97 and fading fast. She can barely talk, is having difficulties swallowing, doesn't want to eat, and is sleeping most of the day. BIL can just sign DH name on checks (or send them for signature).

Goats and sheep! Are they cheaper than paying for someone to mow my lawn???

Dark, dreary, rainy spring day. Sunny days are much better!

136.4. Long day yesterday. Left at 8:00 AM and didn't get back home until 11:15 PM. The opera was only okay but the musical (Finding Neverland) was excellent! Pretty good day of eating - though mostly consisted of protein bars and coffee. I was surprised to be just shy of 10,000 at the end of the day since so much time was spent sitting - at the performances and on the bus!

Will finish up my packing for the scrapbook weekend this morning (so much stuff to haul!) and will try to leave around 10 or 10:30.

I have my PS revision (planned part 2 for breasts and then a little clean up on the arms) on Monday afternoon. Timing isn't great but about as good as it is going to get for awhile.

Have a wonderful day my friends! Off to see what Liz's goat and sheep comment is referring to!

This morning it's yoga class, errands in town, then more timber clean-up. Today and tomorrow we're getting more spring rains. I know ... shocker! ;)

Liz, your post makes me think about the logistics of growing older alone. Hubby and I have long had health and general POAs. But odds are I'll be a widow in my dotage. With no children of my own, I hope to find a niece willing to ease me through that era. Another option is to find the services of a professional health and financial guardian. Those chores don't seem terribly complicated, but would require accurate attention. Given the baby boomer bulge those roles may emerge.

Good morning,

I had Easter ham morning, noon, snack and dinner. Not excessive in calories. I might have been a bit nutty (ha!) yesterday but overall calories not exciting. Weight today: 126, up 3 lbs overnight. The power of salt!

Sheep and goats: I have lived with both. My favorite were these little goats in my Peace Corps days. There were these knobby trees and the baby goats would climb onto the knobs. Tree goats. (Why didn't I get a picture of that?)

Feed your soul today,

Shel

Morning all.

we once had a goat that thought she was a sheep. The sheep took her in albeit with perpetually puzzled looks.

walked for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Food ok.

Happy Thursday.

Shel-I'm wondering if salty ham hasn't had to do with some of my scale not budging much

Liz-Glad you could delegate!

Paula-is this actual surgery or just a consult?

Weight: 155.4 (yay down 0.6), calories: 1224, exercise: none

I decided not to exercise yesterday. Needed a break. I sat at home, enjoyed my pets, and played on the computer. I was maybe a little bored. But I still think it was a necessary break. And we cannot go tonight since I'm seeing Tom Petty in concert. But back at it tomorrow!

Paula made me think about my recent PS consults. I've been back for several consults. I just haven't pulled the trigger. For my TT I really need a lipectomy. The scar didn't extend long enough and didn't cut away enough on my sides so that I have love handles in nearly everything. And because the front of my stomach is flat (yay!), the sides are very prominent now (boo!). But I cannot really rationalize doing anything with TT again if I might have kids in the near future.

But I do plan and hope to have explant soon. I think I've shared before but basically it's been a disaster from the start. My boobs were unscathed after wls because I always had a very flat chest (woo AA!). After the first BA I was one of the freak 2% who had an infection. I was in horrible pain and then had an open draining sore from 4-8 weeks until they had to be immediately removed. I had the put back in a few months later in advance of my wedding and I just don't think I'm a good candidate. I now have lateral displacement and some bottoming out. My most recent consult suggested that I probably have very weak chest tissue from being overweight and that combined with my first surgeon overdissecting the pocket = problems. I'm ready to be done. 4 surgeries will be enough for me.

Actual surgery. My surgeon does his beast lift/augs in 2 stages. He leaves some initial skin at the time of the original surgery to allow for better healing (less chance of stitches ripping open). Part two is done as an office procedure under local for $400. I also have some dog ears on my arm scars and still some hanging skin. I think he will try and clean those up a bit too - he is actually going to have his PA's practice on me for my arms (with his direct supervision of course) so I don't think there will be a charge.

That's very cool! I'm impressed they could do it under local.

I can't recall if my surgeon said she'd do lipectomy under local. I was also asking about the time of explant so if together I'm pretty sure it'd be general. I know some surgeons do explants under local but the last time mine was general and this time as well although it should be pretty quick. One would remove the whole capsule, the other would not. Last time the capsule had to be removed because of infection. I think it's awesome that you're doing this for yourself.
