BTW, I'm off all Ambien now (didn't take any at all while we were gone). Unfortunately, I'm still on Lisbon time, but am following Liz's sleep rules, especially the "go to bed at the same time" rule.

I'm going back to yoga class this morning and looking forward to it. On the ship I spent lots of time on the aft deck in the gym doing yoga and meditation -- completely alone. Blissful hardly describes that setup! The only problem was that crossing the North Atlantic in springtime makes doing standing yoga poses near a deck railing iffy, so I spent most of my yoga time close to the floor.

I know. You're ready for me to shut up. ;) But I feel like Ocean/Diane did about her time in SoCal this winter. It's so exhilarating to be in a place where everything feels perfect. Most of our lives aren't bubbles of perfection, so it's good to memorize those times so we can relive them for years afterward.

Yesterday in the rain I picked boughs of lilac, and the house smells like a bee heaven. The grass here is gargantuan, but no mowing is possible until the rain stops. Dave, I bet your Arkansas grass is even taller than ours. Are the dogwoods down there in full bloom yet?

I LOVE lilacs (though I know a lot of people are allergic). The smell brings back childhood memories of playing under the lilac bushes in the backyard.

In the office today: 116.25; calories 1039.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

WE PASSED !!! We are an official Therapy Dogs International therapy team !! Sadie rocked "leave it" !! I don't think the two, three mile walks, ball playing, extra food at dinner, and frequent cheese reinforcement throughout the day hurt at all either. I'm back to 132, so it was a win/win !!! Now, have to call the vet to arrange for a Hepatitis shot... a requirement for registration.

Ann... your trip sounds glorious !! Your description of nourishing your spirit and soul did take me right back to California !! I'm going to make it a priority to recapture some of that every day, and then take time for gratitude that I did !!

Have an awesome day, all !

Diane

Good morning all!

Ann, Welcome back! Don't you stop talking about peace, tranquility and travel! We need to be reminded that there is another world out there, just waiting for us to walk thru the door. It is so easy to get caught in a rut.

Devon, love the pics, the jacket, the dog and you! And I am glad that DianeS Ace's tail a thumbs up.

Speaking of pups, congratulations to Sadie and her supermom, DianeO!

Speaking of ruts....super busy work week this week, likely 12 hours each day. Then hopefully I am over a major hump and can seek my own peace and tranquility even if it just means traveling to the local beach. And maybe tulip farms. Maybe both, why not?

123's today.

Hug your skinny health today!

Shel

Diane O.-woohoo on therapy dog!

VsgAnn--I think vacations are so important! I'm a bit addicted to travel now! Definitely keeps me going every day to think back or think ahead.

Shel-hi!

Weight today: 156 (woo!), Calories: 1475, Exercise: 1 hr. bis, tris, and shoulders, 30 min. walk/run intervals

Glad to see the scale break in the right direction today. Wonder if I'm dehydrated from workout yesterday, though. I didn't intend for my calories to be so high but I had to travel for work at the end of the day and stopped at starbucks. Got a light frap (not bad) and decided to try their egg bites I've heard raves about. Unfortunately I did not know that there are two kinds and I got the bacon gruyere and 2 were a whopping 310 cals! I only ate one though. (The red pepper ones are about half the cals, fyi)

Good workout yesterday. Considering having our trainer twice a week. But boy is that pricey. He says we need to be lifting 5 days a week. It just really is consuming, though. Still trying to figure out where my happy medium will be. But regardless, I want to get there before "maintaining." DH doesn't get home until 6:30, and then by the time we start working out it's close to 7. Yesterday we didn't get home until 8:30! I did strategize for dinner, though. I bought some premarinated lemon-pepper chicken breasts that were rather large (that's good because we were at the gym for awhile), and the "little potato company" garlic-herb. I put that all together on a sheetpan and set cooktime for 45 min. at 400 and delayed the start by 15 min. (didn't want to keep chicken out too long). By the time we got home it was sitting in a warm, but off, oven. I added a salad with the bolthouse cilantro avocado dressing (yum! you have to try) and a wedge of cantaloupe. Took me just a few minutes prep on both sides. Voila
