Almost April 17th Monday

What a great article. I especially identify being this far out. I do have some aide of the sleeve still. And I attribute most of my success to that. I'm not ashamed of that; I think it's a medical problem for which (thankfully) there is a medical solution. My humble opinion is that it is no different from taking medication for cholesterol which can also (theoretically) be treated through diet and exercise. But why not take the option with the greatest likelihood of success? I've often said that it wasn't the easy way out, it was the only way out. And I firmly believe that. Unfortunately, though, it is not a miracle cure. And it gets more difficult as time goes on. No one hardly remembers the old me now. Sometimes I even forget. Compliments stop coming in, and I think we reach a comfort level with how we're eating. I have "dieted" very differently than others because I never did the whole cut out white stuff thing. For me that would be a set-up for failure. I'd just be waiting for an excuse to say "oh well, I ate a cookie, guess I better eat all things bad until next Monday." I guess to each his own. My surgeon was very liberal in this aspect and said that if his patients could eat that clean after surgery, he didn't see why they needed surgery in the first place. That being said, I agree 100% that you absolutely have to make some changes. I've always loved to cook and have eaten very healthy even at 277lbs...just too much of anything isn't a good thing. I think I was a good candidate for the surgery because it has limited how much I can eat. I continue to eat pretty healthily and I think that's helpful. But even then, I still have to cut. Ugh it makes me cringe. But that's just my truth.

I'm glad you're spotting it early. And I think the biggest indicator for success for all of us is our willingness and desire to keep getting back up and fighting the fight.

(Btw, I think what you're doing is a very "skinny person" thing to do. I think skinny people actually do go on diets before a trip, and certainly come back after and try to take the weight off. I think for even the most successful skinny maintainers, they may allow themselves to fluctuate a few pounds and then buckle down to take them off.)

137.2. Salt weight almost gone. Didn't eat the ham yesterday but will have again for dinner tonight. I got a good walk in yesterday, almost blew over in the wind!

Work today but it is my only day this week. I have off on Wednesday for a field trip with DS#! if he ever gets caught up with his school work, then starting Thursday I have my biannual ladies scrap booking weekend. Hoping DH feels good enough for me to be gone. I'll only be about 45 minutes away if he needs me.

Greetings Sleepy People

So sorry some of us are having sleep problems. I sure know what thats like.

135.5 today so another half pound of dog show weigh gone. Yay. It must have been salt and water because I ran my little tootsies off at that event. Wigged out my fitbit.

Glad all had a nice Easter. Dave, a real egg hunt! Wow bet thats fun. We had a great time at our friends. I ate appropriately and it was so nice to feel pleasantly sated but not overstuffed as I often do. I made cauliflower ricotta bake and it was well received and consumed. I allowed myself about two bites of limoncello cheesecake but none of the chocolate cake. And a glass of wine. This was a meal at 3 pm so we came home later and had no dinner except a handful of peanuts. Feel pretty good about the day's food. One time we had a holiday dinner with this group and on the way home we had to stop so DH could barf. Learned his lesson about the chocolate cake which is always there. It has a ring of pecans around the top so the baker always asks "one nut or two?" LOL

Ann, glad you had a good trip. Three pounds after a cruise is not bad but I agree, get right on it. We called our cruise ship the "binge barge".

I agree, a dinner is always best if someone else cooks it.

Today the kiln opens so I may get some treasures or trash. Then gallery duty at 2 to six which will likely be dull. I will amuse myself snooping through the accounting system. Walk in circles too.

Well rest up all and then lets get on with spring. Our gardens await! Diane S

Hit the pavement running this morning, but writing I am a little tired is a bit of an understatement. I could use a vacation from my dog show vacation! No rest for the weary, right?

Weight up 3 glorious pounds in 5 days. Could have been much worse. I'm sure, too, that once I'm properly hydrated that 3 pounds will be gone in short order. Exhaustion and Easter food got me yesterday. It was just so much easier to go with the flow. And to be honest, when faced with cupcakes, chocolate, cheesecake and banana cream pie and a broccoli salad, well... the broccoli didn't stand a chance of winning my favor!

Need some time today to plan some food for the week.

Ace did very well this weekend - especially considering his age. He was Reserve Winner's Dog both Thursday and Sunday, Winner's Dog on Friday, and Best Bred By Exhibitor Airedale at the National Specialty on Saturday. Not bad for a 12 month old puppy! He is half way done with his championship in only two weekends. I'm proud of my little guy!

Looking forward - tomorrow is the day I chose to begin my focus on WL. Wednesday is my Psychiatric appt. Hoping to discuss Vyvanse with the MD.

Ann, glad you had a fine time! Nice to "see" you back.

I'm here to attest that Ace is one gorgeous dog, sweet as can be. And Devon is pretty cute too. I can assure you all that everyone else with Airedales is wishing Ace would hurry up and finish his championship and get out of their way. I had that experience with my dog Chip and this other really nice dog that cleaned our clock. Non dog show people may not realize what a stellar week this was for Ace and Devon.

Good job Devon. And to think you were worried about his tail which looks great!
